Oh, oh my! I'm not sure I could bring myself to get a tattoo in the first place. Don't think one of James would go over big in my household!

Oh, oh my! I'm not sure I could bring myself to get a tattoo in the first place. Don't think one of James would go over big in my household! I was thinking about it. But where I wanna put the tat [of his signature] would really piss my hubby off. ;D Actually anywhere on my body would be an arguement waiting to happen.

Oh I'd have it immediatly, if I had the money!! I already own a tat, will have another one soon (a small one with the name of my dog) and if I had the money I'd have loads of others including, well, a sort of James-ish art-tat! I'd love to have tat's of memories, things I have been through in my life and well, TG (and especially James) has made me often felt very happy when I was sad..! Isn't that just a good reason? And whomever futury hubby I'll have, he can blow me if he gets suspicious of a tat.

Adrian, you mean you don't have one on yourself, but you like 'em on others?

Adrian, you mean you don't have one on yourself, but you like 'em on others? No, I wish I had one but I don't trust anyone to do it right. I can't even get my hair cut to my liking. I love tattoos on other people though.

Sorry, I just can't be doing with tattoos, for all sorts or reasons. Whatever floats your boat, I suppose! But I could never envisage haing one, and if I found out a bloke I was interested in had them, it would put me right off. (However, I've never had chance to test that theory!)

Tattoos can be very artistic and they can also be gross Its a fascinating process to watch I was riveted when I watched my ex have one of his done. All due respect to that guy but his just look a mish-mash of allsorts. I like tattoos that flow and/or have a theme. I must admit i'm not over keen on head to toe stuff but the odd few on arms backs etc doesn't bother me. I nearly had one done a year or so ago and may still if i ever pluck up the courage There is an excellent tattooist in town, who won't do anything he doesn't think is right for you; he helped my daughter design one of her tattoos, so its a one off just for her!!!

I've not long had my fifth tattoo. I've plans for several more in future when I can afford them. I realise it's not everyone's cup of tea, and although all of mine mean something, I don't think I'd go for anything quite as unsubtle. I do like the idea though, and that chap's highly entertaining ;D

I have about 16 tattoos. My first tattoo (and still my favorite) is Alice Cooper's autograph on the top of my foot. The only other really "person related" tattoo is the Aerosmith logo that I have tattooed on my right ankle. I have thought about getting James's autograph on my other foot (which up until now I have been reserving for the day that I get an autograph from Steven Tyler) but there is a small stumbling block to getting an autograph tattoo from James. First, I'd have to be in the UK, and meet him. Then, I would have to ask him. And I think he would think I was a nutter. I mean I would have to say "would you sign my foot?" and then I would probably feel compelled to tell him my plan was to get it tattooed on and I think he would just think I was crazy. I didn't feel that way with Alice. I think because the aura about him is much more Rock 'n' Roll. And a tattoo fits in with that. I didn't feel compelled to tell him the plan was to get it tattooed on because it was my first tattoo and I wasn't 100% sure I was going to go through with it. I was lucky enough to get to meet Alice a second time and I showed him the tattoo. He asked me if I had to get drunk to get it and I said no. He said he would have had to have been drunk to do something like that. I don't think I would ever get a tattoo of James's face. Having a person's face tattooed on me just doesn't appeal to me. If I liked lego more I would maybe do something like a James May lego man. I have been thinking about a James related tattoo of some sort but hadn't had any ideas about what that would be yet (aside from an autograph.) Any ideas anyone? ;D

As long as that bloke is still happy to stare down at James on his arm when he's in his 80s, wrinkled and decrepit, I guess that's ok. (Personally I've never seen the point of tattoos, but each to their own.)

Aeromanda, super cool!! Photo's? ;D
I couldnt sleep last night, because I was thinking of a design of a larger tat than I have that includes a sort of, yea, James related design/Top Gear related design + the series Lost, Prison Break and Dexter. I have one small one now of the movies "The Lord Of The Rings". It's a leaf. I'd like to work that out to the other side of my back with the other tv-series I just mentioned. EDIT: Oh and the series Fringe ;D although that one never really 'made my day' when I had a bad one..

Interesting stuff this. Just goes to show what a wide range of tastes we have on this Board. Some love tattoos, some don't. I wouldn't have a tattoo - personal taste etc. If I was into them - Aeromanda - I'd go for the signature. It would be a proper way to remember James and when you met him. I appreciate that possibility is pretty remote though ) : - but you never know. I don't think he'd mind at all - he seems to be an 'each to their own' kind of person. Although he may be a bit bewildered!

Stunned is the word ;D I would say signature...*imagines numerous fans exposing body parts and not washing until they can get to their tattoo parlour* ;D Please don't expose anything that could be misconstrude We don't want him running for the hills and us getting a bad name ;D

Hehe, yes, Jacqui, I was think about that too, if I'd met him, that I'd have to go to the tat shop immediatly, otherwise I can't wash... or..... I'd let put James it on a piece of paper and let the tat man overdraw it, although that wouldn't be so special..

*has mental picture of James being mobbed by large band of semi-naked women all shouting, "Sign me James, sign me!", then James legging it round the corner, pausing for breath and saying, "Streuth, that was a lucky escape!"*

This pic has been kicking around t'interwebs today, with the comment 'Marks & Spencer appears to have launched a special James May range'. What these people don't understand, as M&S clearly does, is that James is a fashion trendsetter. We always knew that.

Indeed. Well, I just added this on the ManLab thread, but maybe this is more appropriate place cause it's weird:
Manlab tweets today:
"Thanks for all your #FF. Just working on James’ new clothing range. Not for sale yet but we are hoping it will take the fashion world by storm. Any guesses what piece of clothing all the looks are modeled around?"
"Unfortunately no correct guesses, but it's all around the boiler suit. All will become clear in the next series of James May’s Man Lab."
This is worth waiting for. I'm pretty sure it'll shake the fashion world alright..

In the "Do you have tattoos" thread. Just put them up.
As for not washing after getting a signature so you can have it tattooed on; when I got Alice's signature I took two days afterward to do some research about tattooing and to check out a local shop. I wanted to take the time to make sure it was what I really wanted. So for two days I tied a plastic bag over my foot when I took a shower so that I wouldn't get the signature wet. It worked out ok.

For rather odd bits and pieces.... We might think we'd go to any lengths for James - but would you go this far? No ;D that was easy.
