I felt sure I'd seen a thread along these lines, but can't find it, so....
Bearing in mind it's the great man's birthday on Saturday, what would you give him as a gift (whether money was no object, or not important at all)?

I'd get him another bigger garage for the Fezza as long as he promised to take me for a spin in it.

I think I'd get him a security cordon for his new garage and an invisibility cloak. Then he could go wherever he wanted and if he ran into anyone he didn't want to deal with he could hide, and he could work in his garage without strange people hanging around in the street outside...

If only we had a special machine *edit: as an extra thought, I just reolised this is a very selfish birthday gift... James would get a clone to keep for himself, to do tasks for him! and a tin of spam.

That's lovely - v romantic and loving. There's not many men that would say that! Especially when they say they can't dance. He must love her lots - what a lucky W she is.

James once said he only gave consumables as presents, so I expect he would appreciate cakes and ale, pies and a good single malt. If he lived in this house he would probably get another fountain pen to add to his collection. I do hope he buys W things other than consumables, us gals are suckers for a nice piece of jewellery.

Yep - jewellery certainly works for me! I like silver, or stuff with lots of colour or a bit unusual. I got some lovely stuff for Christmas

Has anybody actually sent anything to James for his birthday in the past before? Because I actually sent him a card through the Top Gear address this year. *blushes*

I actually saw a tshirt recently, with a Scalextric track on it (plus a car!) in its standard figure-8 shape. The thought did come to mind...

... I do hope he buys W things other than consumables, us gals are suckers for a nice piece of jewellery. IIRC he has in the past bought her a Hornby train and an electric drill. Sounds fine to me! I was bought a cordless drill by my partner some years ago and I still love it! Never been bought a Hornby train of my own though What to buy James. Hmmm. I gave him a sugar mouse for Christmas a few years back, that doesn't really work for Birthdays though!

What a brilliant, surreal thought!
"What does yours ask you to do?" "She doesn't! You lucky bugger". "Mine expects me to drive her around in the Ferrari 7 days a week. And she never offers to pay for petrol". "I'm not getting enough pies". "Mind you, these JMB girls really know how to look after a man". "Can't argue with that". "Happy, then?" All: "...Yeah...."

Sure! And there could be a sort of free agency period where any unhappy ones could look for a new JMB'er.
