Hmmm. TG back third week in January. Filming is on a Wednesday, yes? By my calculation, that makes the first studio day bang on James' 50th birthday. Anyone got tickets???!!!

Wow! Hadn't thought of that. Well calculated, jm2! That should be one hell of a filming. I've applied for tickets for the new series, along with several zillion other people, no doubt - we'll just have to hope that at least one person from the JMB gets to be there, and can pass on all the gory details.

I just clicked London on the map they showed and the page came right up for me. It was a great interview. That worked, thanks. Great interview.

Great attention to detail jm 2! That filming should be epic, and I can't wait to see the results. Seems like only a short time ago I was thinking about the fact that it would still be months and months before new TG would air, and now it's almost here

I'm putting this under Radio Alert though technically it's a podcast, don't know whether it actually goes out on the radio or on which channel if it does. Ian Collins has tweeted Recording our Christmas Pod of 'Wants a Word" later with @justinmoorhouse and James May from that car programme. The page for the weekly podcast, which lasts around 45 minutes, is www.iancollins.com/podcast.php

I've tried asking James on Twitter whether he knew Andy Serkis at university. They would both have been at Lancaster at around the same time. Needless to day, I still don't know the answer.

Further to the post I made earlier about James going on the Ian Collins podcast, it's been done
Description: Episode 42 - and it's Bah Humbug to Bah Humbug, as we present a suitably festive parcel of pod-based malarkey that'll have you glugging the eggnog like it's already The Big Day! With your social media feedback, Random Acts of Xmas Annoyance, Kev's Showbiz Shoebox - and our own Three Wise Men - as we're joined by comedian Justin Moorhouse, Listmeister Del Strain - and, amazingly, Top Gear's James May. He likes cars.
but I don't do iTunes and for some reason the MP3 won't link to download. Can anyone make sense of this? I'd love to hear it. I've tweeted Ian Collins, but he may not reply, of course.
Edit: Ian Collins replied, sorted and running now.

A few highlights from James' appearance (that I can recall) He still wants a VW Camper van, a new model not an old one.Sarah is up for it but only if they drive from boutique hotel to boutique hotel in it. She is not a camper van girl. Which remind me of this column Happiness is a camper van with Woman from 03 May 2010 He owns four cars He once broke his wrist He sometime smokes a pipe in his garage Watches his programs when they air with Sarah. She talks through them offering a running critique of him, his performance and the show
