Everyone is so good at editing videos together!! ^_^ This is my video for Captain beachboy! First attempt at editing anything to music... (except a on an old account, aslideshow on Derren Brown- spoof NSPCC advert). Unfortunately, i thought I was being pretty clever, I thought "Gosh how has no-one done this yet?" so I uploaded it.. and a couple of days later, I came accross someone else's Little Honda video, that was done before mine! Theirs is far funnier! But I'll leave mine be anyway. I hope you enjoy Its got James in it! That has to be a good start to win you over hehe www.youtube.com/watch?v=L_ogVyif5Sg

Hey everyone Thought you might like to see my latest fanvid - it's done to another version of Holding Out For A Hero, this time the Frou Frou version. I've tried to challenge myself and my technical knowledge this time, so it's taken about three months, but it's worth it, I feel . Comments, concrit and feedback in general are all welcomed . The best place to see it is here: www.the-emporium.org/Site/Top_Gear.html - lots of versions to download and keep if you want to . There is a link to the youtube version but it's a touch squished (pesky Youtube!) and may not be there forever, given their current policies on music . Have a lovely weekend Fay x

Thanks everyone for the lovely comments - I'm really glad you enjoyed the vid . Doofey - I currently use Final Cut Express on a MacBook, which is lovely because you can do much more with the footage. However, I learned how to make videos back when I had a 'normal' laptop, and I used to use Premier Elements, which copies a lot of the same functions as FCE and is a pretty cool programme for making things look very pretty . Both are pared down, consumer versions of industry standard video editing packages, and TBH you don't lose a lot in that from the original programmes - you can still do most things with them. I'd highly recommend either, and am happy to advise anyone on how to use both - anything to share the vidding love .

Thanks Fay. Do you know if Premier Elements is expensive to buy?

I really, really enjoyed watching your vid. The choice of music is spot on and I loved the effect you used when he's slicing the top of the champagne bottle. The split screen stuff is brilliant too. I'm guessing this was a labour of love for you.

Doofey - it costs about £60 for the new version: *puts on vidding geek hat* www.amazon.co.uk/Adobe-Premiere-Elements-7-PC/dp/B001ELK950/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=software&qid=1241339006&sr=8-1I think you can still get a free 30-day trial from the Adobe site: www.adobe.com/uk/products/premiereel/ I did that before I bought it, to see if I got on with it, and back then it was a fully functioning trial, it just put the Adobe logo in the top right hand corner of your clips when you exported them. I haven't used version 7, I stopped using it at version 4, which was when I switched to a mac, but hopefully things haven't changed too much! As I said, I'm more than happy to help - I'm genuinely fascinated by film and the editing process so feel free to ask any questions you like and I'll do my best to answer *takes off vidding geek hat* Fallatyourfeet - thanks so much - I wanted to really go for it in terms of effects this time, and it's good to know they work for eyes other than mine! And yes, it was definitely a labour of love . What better way is there to learn to use software than to spend hours looking at film footage of James? *G*
