Look at the bucketload of magnificence I saw on my way to the tube station the other day... It's a Chevrolet Lacetti!

Oi!... Don't knock the Lacetti, it's the discerning BTCC driver's car!

I don't think it was built to quite the same specification (homologation rules notwithstanding!). This one looked considerably more... Reasonably Priced...

It's too well parked to belong to a BTCC driver ;D

A blue RHD Ferrari Daytona drove past uni this morning when I was in the resource centre revising. I nearly fell off my chair. There aren't exactly a lot of those!

I have no idea what suddenly reminded me of this, but anyway..... See this abomination Now, all you have do is imagine it minus the flowers, and with a black playboy bunny, and the word 'Princess' in the Playboy font, on the bonnet. That's what I saw today, driven by a blonde lady, complete with embarrassed male in the passenger seat. I think he wanted to walk, judging by the look on his poor mug.

What a revolting colour. I can well imagine why the male passenger wanted the earth to swallow him up. I have to admit where I worked one of the staff had a black Focus completely decorated inside with pink fur fabric, pink fluffy dice, and twee pink fur animals. On the exterior were playboy bunnies and various other logos, all in pink. That too was revolting.

A kind of sighting - I took my Mini for its MOT today (passed with flying colours) and was talking to the boss about what I might get next. He introduced me to his Porsche, Carrera 2 with a GT3 body kit, and asked if I wanted to drive it. Said he was keen to get rid and could do a very tasty price. I said I'd think about it.
Problems: I'm not really financially placed to do it at the moment It's got 82,000+ on the clock it's on a 1998 plate I'm worried that I might drive it, love it and then all those points above will become REAL problems!
So I don't think I'll bother!

Just say NO! PS How much did he want for it?

It's on a 17 and a half, but as I'm a regular customer (ouch!) he said he could do at least 10% discount and probably a lot more.
He also said that, once you've driven a Porsche, you never want to drive another car. Which begs the question, why is he selling it? He says his wife bought it for him for his 40th birthday last year.
This is a guy who's driven serious stuff round the Nurburgring, so he's not just a car-sales idiot (like so many are when they realise a woman's on her own).

I suspect a lot of things are about to go wrong with the car and he wants it off his hands quickly. Or else it's like James and the Jag from the second Wine Adventure... a lot of little things are wrong and he doesn't want to bother with it any more. (Or, more charitably, he doesn't really like the car, never 'bonded' with it, has no use for it, has another one just like it...)
Saw the RR Silver Shadow Mark II again the other day. I was right to mistake it for a Corniche -- they're sisters. It's a massive boat of a thing, even by US standards.

He says it has had £4,500 worth of work done on it just before he bought it, and has paperwork. Don't think I'm actually interested (late husband would think I was mad, though I've had sporty stuff for many years) but it's a bit tempting!

The Lamborghini showroom in Kensington had five Gallardos... three of them were Balbonis!
(and yes, that is a kiddie's Gallardo pedal car at the end of the clip)

There used to be a pale pink pearlised Smart near here and every time I saw it the only thought I had was "I'd really like a nail varnish in that colour", even though I've had a Smart in a sensible colour (navy blue) and loved it to bits.

Why did I forget my phone when I went on my walk? I have just seen the most ostentatious car I have ever seen outside of a car show. It completely upstaged the assorted Porsches and a lovely Maserati Granturismo and even - and this would have out-ostentatiousnessed ANYTHING on a normal day - an Overfinch Range Rover.
What was it?
An f430 Spider that had been chromed. It was LHD and being driven by a young man in designer shades who looked like a footballer and probably was. It was quite the most ridiculous thing I've ever seen on the road, and I feel sorry for the other drivers because the sun was bouncing off the chromed bodywork at all angles. It looked brilliant and mad at the same time. But who cares what it looked like? The noise was gorgeous, especially as he gave it a few extra revs as he moved off. You could hear it long after he'd vanished from sight.

A Blackburn footballer has/d a chromed Mercedes McLaren SLR which was stunning to look at on the move but in hindsight was more than a little bit lacking in taste.

I saw a bee-you-tiful Maserati today. It was moving quite quickly (as it should be) so I didn't see any details of what it might have been. But I do remember it having 'gills' on the sides. So I just Googled pictures, and it would appear that what I saw, was a GranTurismo. Like this one.

Following on from Wyvern's photo of the bucketful of magnificence above, I saw this Liana at the traffic lights, just around the corner from the Lacetti Then a chromed convertible went past just as I turned off. It could well ahve been the chromed F430 Wy saw the other day!

On the way home from the tube station this evening I saw a lovely black Nissan GT-R and a bright red Lotus Elise. Oddly enough, this was my second Elise of the day. I saw a black one when I was walking to the station at the other end of the journey too

Ah, the magnificent Elsie. Himself had one in British Racing Green, the last in his long line of Loti. Only problem was, I let him go and buy it on his own, the only time I did. The day he picked it up and pulled up outside the house with great pride, I knew immediately with a sinking heart that I would never be able to get in and out of it in public, and I was proved right.
I could just about do it with the roof off as long as I came out on all fours, head first - not a good look. With the roof on it was impossible. I couldn't hook my foot over the sill as it was too high, and as my figure can be described as "curvy verging on ample", I never stood a chance! I sulked a bit about that one, I can tell you.

I tried out an Elise for size a while ago, just to see if I could actually get my bottom in the little seats. Turns out I can, but it's not exactly an elegant undertaking! And there are little recesses in the A-pillar that I managed to trap my right foot in, which meant I twisted my back... but I did it ;D

I learned to drive in a Hillman Imp (don't suppose many of you will remember them.) My first real car was a "classic,"a bull nosed morris with split screen, I followed that with (hangs head in shame,) a Morris Marina. The man described it as akin to driving a Sherman Tank.

It's almost the same colour as the one we saw, if a shade brighter (I think, but then my sight is leg-endary, as we know).
