Thanks. Will do. Red one has 87k miles on it and just needs paint and a bit of interior work. Gold one has 114k miles and needs engine rebuild. Fun to work on though.

I second Lew's comments! I love that kind of thing. Mind you, I love any kind of project. I wouldn't drive a Triumph Herald if I didn't!

Thanks. won't be quick. Can only do a little at time with raising a family. Still trying to find someone reasonable to paint it. First guy wanted $4000 an I have already done 90% of the work. May have to buy a compressor and do it myself.

Interesting bridal car at a wedding I went to yesterday. It's a Beauford - I thought someone couldn't spell, so I looked it up and it's a kit car. Took ages to get a clear(ish) shot as people were all over it!

Ah, lovely! I think there might be a photo in this thread somewhere of the pair of Beauford wedding cars a company near me had when I lived in Plymouth. You don't see many and they are gorgeous

It was a lovely day, and did anyone clock the Morris Traveller in the background to the right of the second photo? That was the car the bride arrived in - it belongs to her dad.

Gerald had his MOT today and when I went to pay for it (and leave him behind to be welded ) I spotted a Mercedes 300SL Roadster waiting for attention. OK, it's not quite as stunning as the Gullwing, but even so, it cheered me up Oh, and I saw my first Citroen DS3 'in the wild' today. Looks every bit as fantastic on the road as the press car I had a look at last November did standing still. Such a pretty, pretty car. If I was in the market for a new car right now, money was no object and I was to go for what feels right, it would be that.

Oh god, why did they have to put pink on it? It's such a pretty little car and they've ruined it! The one I saw yesterday was that grey with burgundy and it looked superb

Reminder to self - carry camera at all times!
This afternoon, parked where it shouldn't have been outside Asda, a Lotus Evora, dark gun-metal silver and possibly one of the most beautiful cars I have ever seen in my life. I couldn't fault its looks; don't care how it drives! (Though if its like the other Lotuses (Loti?) I've driven, it'll be amazing).

Saw one of these just now when I went down to mail a letter. Ferrari 430 Scuderia All in black with a dark grey 'V' down the hood. I stared. Then I went into the post office and stared a bit more. Then I did a quick circle around it in my Plymouth Neon and stared... stealthily. And then I nearly hit someone from the distraction. So amazing in person. My heart's beating a little faster just thinking about it.

Well, you don't see many of them in Dallas, for a start.
(Porsches, on the other hand -- they're everywhere)

It's funny how living so close to the 'footballer belt' you stop commenting on these things after a while - I mean, yesterday when I went to the local shops, I saw numerous Porsches, a Bentley Continental GT and a pretty little Morgan Plus 4, and the Morgan was the only one that made me raise an eyebrow! You do sometimes see something very different, though, and that's what happened a couple of days ago. I saw one of these, in silver like the top one - the bottom picture is just to show what I think it its best angle! It's a Bentley S1 Continental Fastback with coachwork by Mulliner's (the company Hammond's grandfather worked for). I stood there and jaw-cragged at it because it's so rare and so different. A few years ago, TG.Com listed this as no.7 in the 100 sexiest cars of all time, saying: Mulliner Park Ward created this two-door version of the Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud 1 in very limited numbers (431 to be exact). The S1 is the choice of those who know who they are and what they want out of life. And that's a 4.9-litre straight six.I have to admit, I absolutely love the fastback shape. I want to grope it and run my hands over it and generally touch it inappropriately. The Triumph GT6 brings out the same urge, as do old Alfa Romeo fastbacks. Anyway, I was so busy gawping at the 1950s Bentley that I nearly got run over... by a shiny new silver Corvette, something else you don't see much around here!

I love living here. On the way home from work on Friday, I saw a Koenigsegg whizzing along the motorway. Completely distracted me from the shiny black Corvette that was overtaking the bus ;D

Yesterday a black Audi R8 was coming in the opposite direction and pulled out to overtake just before it got to me. It took off like a rocket. What a beautiful car.

I went for a job interview earlier today, and during the bus journey there I saw not one, but three Porsche 928s, all parked within an area of about 200 yards or so! ;D The 928 is one of my favourite Porsches, so it was rather fun to see them all in such a small area. I think there must be a collector living somewhere in that vicinity.

I saw a new Audi A4 the other day and made a disappointing discovery. You know the 'S' curve running lights under the front headlamps? The ones that make it look like the car is glaring at you in a sexy way? [these] They turn off when the front turn signal is on. But only on the side that's signaling. So it goes from a pretty glare to a lopsided wink ... and ruins the effect.
