I saw a BRZ at the gas station. Talked with its owner for a bit and he let me look the car all over. It has an amazing amount of space. He had a whole stereo system, including large speakers and a subwoofer, packed in the back as he was moving. I am starting to convert from the prancing horse to the raging bull. I saw a nice white Lambo in Leeds the other day, and a girly R8 in Tesco. What is a "girly R8", pray tell.

Basically its just an R8 - an R8, and all TT's are girls cars, and hot girls drive convertible Audi's

Nice bit of car spotting between Cardiff and London today - a beautiful GT40 (not the more recent Ford GT), a Morgan Plus 8, a Ferrari 599, Lamborghini Aventador, two Ferrari 458s, a Rolls-Royce Ghost in a disabled bay, a Ferrari 612 Scaglietti, a Porsche 356 Coupe (but I don't think that really counts, because it's part of the Tag Heuer display window at Harrods) and a Chevrolet Camaro, which, whilst not as exclusive as some of the others, is a real rarity in the UK

I did - I forgot to mention the two R8s and the Maserati GranSport I don't think I've ever seen so many Ferraris - I've only mentioned the ones I managed to identify. And most of the Fezzas, the Lambo, the Camaro and the GranSport were all on the same road as the Porsche 356 Coupe - Old Brompton Road, outside Harrods ;D In four years of living in London, I have NEVER seen so many luxury cars at the same time. My view of one of the 458s was blocked for a while by a white Rolls-Royce Corniche too. Ridiculous. Never seen anything like it in my life.

On reflection, I'm half wondering if they had anything to do with the shoot Top Gear were doing in London today. It was pretty unusual - I mean, today, I left London by the same route, and barely saw anything of note, just a couple of Astons, a Rolls-Royce Phantom and a Rolls-Royce Ghost. Though I did see an absolutely lovely deep kingfisher blue Triumph GT6 on the motorway - it overtook my coach EDIT: Nope, not the TG shoot. Too much foreign exotica for that. Almost wish I'd got up early to go to the shoot though - it was such a special one, Jeremy was actually encouraging people to come and watch them filming this morning!

OK as usual a cool car is two lanes over and all I see is the back. If any of you can identify a car that has what looks like a circle with a straight line going down from the bottom of the circle on the trunk probably above where a key might go. My cousin and her son were with me and they swear they saw the Maserati logo on the front. I did some research and couldn't find and Maserati that didn't have the name where we saw the other logo. Thanks for any help. Wyvern, I'd probably get in an accident if I saw that many cool cars, lucky you.

I saw an orange MG BGT today (Dit, is that what you have?), and there is a vintage Mustang parked in my neighbor's driveway, which will require additional reconnaissance if it's still there tomorrow.

Mine's a Triumph GT6, FL, though there's a lot of confusion between the MGB GT and the GT6. I guess they were very much in competition with each other when they first came out, and there are a lot of similarities. I think the MGB came first but it had a smaller engine. Looks-wise, the MGB has a sharper back end and the GT6 slopes more (it was called the poor man's E-type). I personally think the GT6 is a prettier car, but then again, I'm biased! For comparison: MGB GT GT6 (mine)

I swear to God the car I saw yesterday looks just like your GT6, and it was badged as a "MG BGT" not "MGB GT." I wonder if somebody restored it and rebadged it incorrectly. The reason it caught my eye in the first place was because of that sloping back. I have several friends with restored Datsun 240Z's, which was another model from that era with a sloping back, although different front ends.

Wow, yes, the Datsun 240Z. I remember how much I coveted them when I was younger, and looking at one now is the first time I've realised that there's a real resemblance to the lines of the GT6, though of course the Datsun is much bigger. 240Z As for the car in your photo, it's really got me confused. For a start, the designation is definitely MGB GT rather than MG BGT. The MGB was the successor to the MGA made by the firm MG, and the stable-mate to the MGB GT, which was the hard-top coupe, was the MGB Roadster, so whoever put the MG BGT badge on was wrong! The car in your photo looks very much like a GT6, certainly as far as the back end is concerned. The bonnet seems nearly right, though perhaps a bit more like a Triumph Spitfire one. Perhaps the original car was one imported to the US with slight modifications, though that wouldn't explain the badging. One possibility is that it's a Spitfire that someone's fitted a hard top to without knowing what the car actually is. Alternatively, someone has bodged the car together from bits of both Triumph and MG cars and has called it something that's about right. (For example, I know of a GT6 Mark 2.5, that someone's made from mark 2 and Mark 3 parts). Other than that, I'm at a loss, I'm afraid!

The pic I posted above is a 240Z that I swiped from the internet just for comparison. Amie, your car is definitely not what I saw yesterday.

Ah the Datsun 240Z. How I drooled over them! No kidding. When new in 1970, a 240Z was ~ $3500 USD. In today's dollars, that's still only ~ $20K. An incredible car at an incredible price.

There's a somewhat sketchy, small used car dealership near my sister's apartment in Chicago. I saw a Lamborghini Gallardo in it the other day. I don't know how you would drive a Lambo in Chicago...you don't really get above 30mph most of the time. And, if the buyer drove off the lot and turned onto the nearby street where my sister lives which is full of extra large speed bumps...uh...it would not end well.

The A Team van drove past my house yesterday!
OK, so not 'the' A Team van, but it was a pretty good stab at it - a real GMC truck with the proper black and dark grey paint job with the red strip and the spoiler. It made my day!

I had the pleasure of seeing a Rolls Royce cream colored with beige soft top. Of course no picture. I 'm going to go back and look at James' to see the similarities. Then last night in a car park I saw some wings and mentioned to the owners their gas cap was open. It was a Bentley. I guess I should walk down by the British Embassy and see if there are any interesting cars. The only problem is walk, walk, walk. It is still difficult to walk at a pace that is comfortable for blocks on end. I'd probably get run over because not all the drivers pay attention to the lights, especially cabs.

Took the GT6 to a car show last week and saw a few interesting vehicles. I'm starting to realise that, in the main, the same cars turn up at every show, but as this was a big one there were some I hadn't seen before. Didn't take too many photos as it rained on and off, but I did enjoy these: In my naivety, at first I thought this was done up for weddings. Apparently it's designed to work in Arctic conditions. Note the rifle. Tarted up Capri. Actually rather impressive in the flesh. Lovely, lovely Buick. A fab little three-wheeler kit car, though obviously a bugger to get in and out of (I saw the passenger struggling). And finally, up until that day I had no idea there was such a thing as the International Vintage Pram and Doll Club.

Those are some interesting looking cars. The Buick is very nice to look at, I love the color. I've heard of doll clubs but not prams and dolls. Collectibles are everywhere.
