If they really wanted to, they'd be there, in time......or they may (if they've won) accept it at Dunsfold with a sorry we're busy ;D You'd be surprised how complex an operation a turn around like that would actually be. Granted its been a few years since I was doing any filming, but DD and I talked about this and it would quite likely have required air lifting them into an area close to the city rather than driving them (as that would be thick) getting them clean and changed and presentable plus all the usual blah they have to go through when they get to the awards (as nominees they'd have to be there earlier than most) not to mention finishing at the other end on time (which doesnt always happen- they don't always shoot off home when filming ends) Agree about them filming a speech from Dunsfold (even with the audience there) Somebody in production missed a golden opportunity there! Still, I thought the stig idea was inspired and really funny and I am delighted for the lot of them. Long may they reign!

Reckon as they knew the pub was a better option.......filming at TG as I've seen it was already sorted and well rehearsed, all they needed was the audience and the star in the car and a dose of the Jez humour could have ended much earlier, but as I've never working for anything to do with the media.....they won and I don't care.

Yeah agreed. 1 hour drive to London, straight in. No problems, and the stars arrive pretty much the same time as everyone else - sometimes a little later. As it wasn't even annouced until later too - plenty of time. Couldn't be bothered and I don't really blame them. Glad to see the Stig there though - the TG pin up boy doing his thing.

I'd like to think they chose to go to the pub and that the first night of filming the new series was not as complicated as they tend to be. Do they still finish at about 7 as I keep hearing? I keep forgetting all Jeremy's other roles aside from presenting; wonder if he ever watches the full 'rushes' (even though technically there wont be any!) Hope the traffic wasn't too rubbish either. Took me an hour and a half when I came back once!
Dissapointed the nominees don't turn up a little earlier like they do for other events/ceremonies but then these tend to be a bit of a joke in the media sometimes! Still, Ant and Dec got their doorstop too so that's erm.. good :s
Interesting bet Lew. I wonder...

According to the report on HH they said they were off to Earl's Court for more rehearsals for TG Live. Of course, that may just be TG-speak for "We're going to the pub"

A bit dissapointed that they didn't turn up for the awards, must admit. Then again glad they beat Ramsey. ;D

Yay!! They won! Rightly so, IMHO. ;D I've only just found out, after reading it on here. I had to go out to work just as the nominations for that category were being announced. Just my luck!

Thinking about it, I'd be dissapointed if despite the fact the public votes for this award, they went to the pub because they 'couldn't be bothered'. I imagine somebody at the beeb would have forced at least one of them there!!!! LMAO. I bet they were rehearsing.

A fantastic result... well deserved guys!! ;D
I thought (ahem) The Stig looked amazing... I loved the 'interview' on ITV2 afterwards, and him being singled out as one of the fashion successes of the night... Stiggy, cover star, and now catwalk star and style icon!! ;D

Oddly, I've just been looking for it... no sign as yet, but early days??... 'Tis great, they were interviewing winners as they came off stage after collecting their award... as you can imagine, Stig was priceless!! And the fashion expert later, commenting on the dresses everyone (well, the females) were wearing, and he specially mentioned Stig's 'ensemble'! ;D

STIGGY! Woo! I tried so hard to get a picture of him outside, but I think my camera seized up due to the cold. Certainly the pictures I DID get were dreadful.......
