In the 80's Oz was the wine expert on Food and Drink where he teamed up with Jilly Goolden. He mentioned her in the first series. That was the whole joke, that James would leave Oz for his old tv-buddy. You can see her briefly in this Room 101 clip - with a very short Oz appearance as well - at around 3.30. |

'Food and drink' was quite a good programme in its time. Jilly Goolden was funny, if a bit irritating, and used to be wildly enthusiastic, burbling on about wine smelling like 'wheelbarrows full of greengages' or 'old compost heaps', and Oz used to look on with a wry smile and cast his eyes to heaven. Not unlike some of the looks he gives when James burbles on ...
