Thank you all for your very kind comments. Yes I feel like I am writing a fan fic lol. I am glad it is good so far as I am not really experienced at writing reviews so I'll just go with how it happened. Here is the rest of my review. ENJOY.
Our tickets doubled as raffle tickets which James drew the winners from a helmet. The winners collected their prizes from James, he shook their hands & photographers took photos of them. Sadly I never won anything although my number was close to one of the winners. 1st prize was gold pass tickets to Legends 2008.
After the prizes were given out, James was thanked for his time & we all clapped him. Straight after people started to approach James' table for autographs, so I grabbed my bits and headed over also. My heart was beating fast with anticipation and nerves. It took courage for me to go over. James was signing peoples entry tickets, I had that lovely pic of him in the flying suit from Heat Mag and DVD cover from the latest top gear release of their American adventure. There was a man just in front of me. I was right behind him. he was all that seperated me from James. I couldn't see James as the guy was tall and well built, he spoke with James for quite a while, while I waited patiently with Heat Mag in hand ready and my partner standing by with the camera. I then noticed James looking around the guy at me so I said hello quietly to him but dont think he heard me. I thought why is James looking at me? because he then continued to sign the guy's tickets. It finally became my turn with Mr May. James then said to me something in the line of Oh god it isn't that picture in that magazine & I said yes and handed it to him. It really took me by surprise his reaction as I was shy enough. lol. He then said quick hide it so no one can see, with that he very quickly put the DVD cover over the face of the picture and decided to sign the interview page opposite instead. So I am Afaid to say that I embarrassed Mr May & that he hates that lovely picture that we all love. I then reminded James to sign my DVD cover but not before he quickly closed the magazine & handed it back to me. To make things worse for our Mr May a guy standing next to the table, not sure if he was a photographer as he had a professional looking camera. he asked me to hold the picture up so he could take a photo of it. lol. James then gave a nice smile as I posed with him for a photo. I then shook his hand as I got a lot braver by now, my hands had been very cold all day. so James felt warm and soft. Afterwards me and my partner looked at planes again. James just stood around chatting with people. We finally left for home while James was still chatting and we walked past him to leave. I thoughht he would be there just for a talk and if I was lucky I might get an autograph before he left, but he was there all evening throughout the event.
I had a great time and it was a thrill and great experience to meet James May and worth every penny. We left for home at ten to eight and were home within an hour.

Aw, how fabulous! Can just imagine James getting all embarrassed, I get the feeling he really doesn't see himself as a "celebrity crush", weird or not. Actually, I suspect he finds it tricky to get his head around both the "celebrity" part and the "crush" part Glad you had a great time and conquered your shyness - knew you could do it! |
