I'm definitely still up for it. OK, on the downside, no James, but on the upside, lots of cool bikes, cool planes and most of all, BOARDIES!!!

Well, I'd still like to go - I've been looking forward to this for ages! ;D I'd like to meet up with everyone, put some faces to names, and have a bloody good weekend!

I'm still going as far as I know, and I think Inky is, although I won't speak entirely for her. It will be a fun time, spitfires, mud, drink, bikes, leather, mud, drink and meeting some more boardies.

Well, I'm still going, even though I only sand to loose £14 on the train ticket if I don't! It's still a fun weekend away with some like minded people.

There is still no way, but the whole karma thing was funny, I managed to get a room for thundersprint, but had to cancel it due to lack of company. And she was trying to book a hotel for the weekend before in peterborough, to go and watch the football, but she couldnt find one as 'truckfest' is on. That made me laugh, and all I kept shouting out was KARMA! KARMA! and wetting myself laughing. She did find a travel lodge in the end though, so it was less funny, but still funny enough that she couldnt get into the 3 hotels she wanted ;D
(I'm a cruel, cruel person) ;D ;D

On hh they are reporting that Rich has a pilot on the 10th May...so does it mean that James could be back or that this is a programme not involving TG....or have I got my dates wrong

I saw that. Hadn't thought of that. Perhaps James is lying as he knew we were going to Thundersprint.

Perhaps James is lying as he knew we were going to Thundersprint. That thought crossed my mind too On the other hand, I gather they do individual bits of filming for TG without involving the other guys. So he might be telling the truth. If he's not, did he get the info from here or from Frank? Another case for members only threads, perhaps ? My sympathies to all those that were intending to go

Wasn't James going to Japan for his next science series? I never understood for it to have been for Top Gear in the first place.

I have no idea where I picked this up from, maybe I dreamed it up because I haven't exactly been firing on all cylinders for the last week or so, but I'm sure I read that James would be filming for "his new science thing", not TG.
And actually, thinking about it, certainly the TG magazine/web team have already been to Japan this year because they tested an Evo X against the new Nissan GT-R outside of Tokyo (I think, like I said, brain isn't quite back online yet) for one of the articles on the website. Possibly not Tokyo but definitely in Japan somewhere!!! It would be a bit strange for them to send a production team over just to shoot a few minutes of footage for the website...

I've had to cancel any idea of Thundersprint as the cooker's packed in and "him indoors" stood on the settee and broke it. Well, bits of it. Cash flowing out but not flowing in...

Well I thought Japan was a TG thing, but I don't know where I got that from, as my mind is warped these days. Nevermind. I am sure James would be at Thundersprint given half the chance. Maybe Richard could come along with his new Harley.

Frank told me that the BBC was sending the guys to Japan in the beginning of May. James told him that and he also told him that he couldn't be at thundersprint because of that.

I can always call them anyway if not, so not to worry. thanks Its not far from the station. About a twenty minute walk at most. If you are carrying heavy bags and don't want to walk you can catch the bus and it will take you to within a minutes walk of the Floatel.

I don’t know what all the fuss about Thundersprint was about, and I'm glad to see some of you are still going. Sure, you’re missing out on seeing Leon Haslam and that bloke from the telly this year. But you’ll be getting young Danny Webb – a much better proposition for any self respecting Heat reader to ogle, I would have thought. Although you might have to wait until he comes of age before you ask him out.
If you’re determined to watch an ageing codger astride a raging beast, you should consider an excursion to the Cobham Community Donkey Derby instead (particularly the Dads vs Year Six race). My diary says it’s being held on 20 June.
