Update LinkThe train is still going but at a very slow speed and is now expected to arrive at Bideford around midnight. Major problem is that some morons have been interfering with the track and batteries and have even been knicking stuff. Oh how horrible. Little baskets I wish I lived closer - I'd go and kick some ass.

And James is doing this for the kids, it would be break my heart to be honest if I had put all the hard work into this that James and his volunteers had and found stuff had been pinched. Some kids just don't know how lucky they have it. Rant over, sorry.

But if we did live closer, then we could have been there as security ;D with big sticks and guns ;D ;D out in the country, who'd notice anything going on? I am jesting of course - I've never shot anything in my life before, except with a catapult.

Back to Lego: Short interview with Barnaby Gunning, the architect. It looks like he did think things through beforehand. Link to articleI'm surprised by a couple of things -- the way the Lego walls are shiny and reflective, almost like glass or glazed tile -- and the eye-blinding loudness of the colors. I wonder how the brightness will affect James when he has to look at it for several days straight

For a sec, I thought you were going to say: "I wish I lived closer - I'd go over and get myself some track as well." ;D But I don't even have a Hornby set ;D And Imma not that kind of person - I didn't even filch any of the Lego. I will admit to taking some Plasticine, but then we were told we could do that if we wanted some.

There certainly was a lot going on while I was snoozing! What are the requirements for the world record? I haven't caught up on all of the details of this one.

It was difficult to understand much of what those girls were on about. Yes I dare say they didn't lay much of the track.

You have to wonder if he would have said that if Oz hadn't been there.
I want to ride the May train.

I think he as said in the past that his mum lives in Devon. If she lives in that part of Devon wonder if she has made up the spare room and baked him some fruitcake. ;D

Oz was there yesterday. Some people on Twitter mentioned seeing him. I don't think he stayed at his mum's. Remember he's got his own place in Totnes. He must have bought it because he likes Devon so much as he has often written. Although after yesterday's events I doubt whether that is still the case. More info about yesterday's problems: Link. I'm still looking for info on whether the train made it or not.

It's rotten, isn't it? I had a little think on this, and so far as I know, this was the only event out of the six for the programme that took part in a place where anybody could just turn up and see what was going on. For the rest, they were either made out of public view (like the Plasticine and Airfix) or were in an environment where you had to pay to go and see it (like Scalextric, which was mostly in Brooklands). But the Tarka Trail is a completely public path - so plenty of scope for baskets to come along and ruin things. I hope they all feel thoroughly ashamed of themselves - this programme is (in part) aimed at children after all. Oh, it has made me so angry to hear about that!

The sad thing is that some of the thieves might well be adults who today are saying to their kids: "Look what daddy got you."
