It is a lovely watch, isn't it? Mind you, I've always ahd a soft spot for Omegas, especially vintage ones. As the new ones go, that one's a cracker.

I think the column is on a time setting so may kick in at midnight. Bank Holiday on a Friday The column normally is on-line at around noon. There isn't a link to it from the the Telegraph-site, but you can get to it by changing the url of the previous column. This week that doesn't seem to work. So either the people at the Telegraph have changed the url without telling me ( ) or the column isn't on-line yet. We'll have to wait..

B*gger, the column still isn't on-line. I checked the other weekly sections in the Motoring section and it's the same there. So I guess the column won't be up until Tuesday.

He does indeed. Well done James, many sensible adult comments in fact. It's obviously got to him how they are blamed for every car accident in the country - despite, as he said, there being car accidents caused by idiots long before Top Gear ever existed. Thanks for doing that MG.

He certainly got it all out in that column. Don't blame him, it's a column I couldn't put down and just reread it. He's a brilliant writer. I didn't want members who couldn't see it on the Telegraph site to miss out

In the house we have a slim line telephone and one which celebrated the queen's silver jubilee.

Good points and well made. I'm delighted that the Telegraph has been prepared to run with this story because I read Ms Moir's article James refers to and by the time I got to the end (well, considerably before it, actually) I was ready to put a brick through my monitor. It had me that angry with the silly woman. I'm sure she's a talented journalist (at least, I like to give people the benefit of the doubt), but she clearly ran out of talent on this one. So I'm glad that James has been able to respond to her, and to certain elements of the journalistic world at large who have been behaving like utter pillocks over the last couple of weeks. Top Gear has been a soft target for a long time and if someone hadn't spoken up soon, I suspect they would have been blamed for everything from the socio-political crises in Africa to the spectacular failure so far of SETI to find Mr Spock's mates. Could lead to some interesting water-cooler conversations at the Telegraph

Typical! For the first time in several weeks, I've thought of a comment to post, and I can't post it because the column isn't online!!! Sod's Law strikes again... Bloody brilliant column, though - one of his best ever! ;D I, too, am sick to death of TG being blamed for all the negative issues relating to modern motoring. A very pertinent point about kids and schooling, as well. Edit: It's finally online - thanks, Lindenchase. I'll post a comment in due course.
