Having suddenly realised it was Sunday, I wondered if jezza had done a column. Thanks for these. He's forgotten the problem with shop assistants asking you if you need any help the moment you step foot in the door, and then continuing to ask you every 60 seconds until you leave (which is usually within 2 minutes). Pretty girls? Mmmm.... intelligent, polite ones who actually want to serve you would be more useful. I take it Mrs C didn't get anything from Tiffany's this year then. ;D

I must admit i hate shops that do not put prices on things and will not buy it if it has no price on it.

I most of the time walk by shops that have no prices in the front window. If there is no price the shop much be expensive.

The people who interrogate you, shops that don't keep things in stock, surely sales staff and worst of all, no price tags. All pet peeves of mine, but then again I detest shopping and always have. I'm not sure I agree about pretty sales girls, but then again, if I've got a choice of checkouts in Tesco and the only thing to choose between them is the attractiveness of the dopey lads behind the tills, I admit I tend to byass the minger... But Ly, that's probably my biggest pet peeve of all! (I enter a shop and am immediately pounced on by an obsequious sales monkey) "Can I help you?" "No, I don't know if I want anything yet." "Well, if you need help, please don't hesitate to ask." (assistant buggers off and I start looking at stuff. For about thirty seconds) (Enter assistant number 2) "Have you been served, madam?" "I'm fine, thank you." (assistant 2 buggers off. I find something I want but I either can't reach it or can't find the colour/size/style/flavour I want)(I look for a sales assistant but they've all magically disappeared).

Yes, and he got it right about PC World. I was prepared to spend about £500 in there once, they 'help' you choose something, disappear for about 20 minutes to 'check the stock', leave you hanging around like a tw*t and then come back and say they have none!!
What's more their bloody TV ads are full of crap too, claiming that you can walk in there and pick up something right away!! What lying idiots!! I have not been in one since last year and if I can help it I won't be again.

I have bought most of my computers online. It's much cheaper and you always get them delivered within a couple of days.

That's how we've gotten our last three computers, except the laptop. I like that you can save money that way and choose all the bits you want as you're ordering it.

D'ya know sometimes people really come down on him for whatever reason... then he comes out with things like this and reminds us why he is so good at what he does. Just a little reminder that he is in touch with what's happening in the world.

Jeremy hit the nail on the head there. The department I work in, in my little office blot on the landscape deals with care cases and represents the parents involved. I can totally understand both sides of the situation. Well done Jezza, a brillaint collum. xx

I always remember playing draughts with my brother and I won. He kicked the board across the room. Jeremy is right. Again. I like the idea of his seaside "cottage", despite it being more like a small mansion. As for the Tesla - a note of weariness already and it's only 11th January.

I do too. Oh to be rich enough for one. (dreaming) I also remember when Dad and I used to play games together when I was a kid. He spoiled me. He almost always let me win. We used to play Battle, Checkers, Chess, Sorry, Life (the original version), and Monopoly. Those were fun times. Gran and I used to play Rummy all the time too. Son's not much of a card player, but I should keep up the tradition and teach him how to play it. That way, he can teach me how to get better as Mario Super Smash Bros. I think he got me hooked last night.

Excellent... I totally agree! The same reason the Star Wars prequels were much maligned... just get out in your ships and fight the dark forces... I didn't want to know their life-stories! BTW... my boss is Piglet, he too suffers from SPS!

He called James Eeyore on top gear and James was Owl i think in something he wrote for the times. Having never read a pooh book i don't get the owl thing because i know northing about the owl i know Eeyore is all ways unhappy so i guess he was saying James is a miserable git. I thought piglet was pooh's best friend is he evil in the books or is that just Jeremy being Jeremy ?

None of the characters in the book are evil, it is a kids book. I think Piglet is just over excitable.
I too am an Eyeore but I don't mind, I love donkeys.
