I don't agree with pie-ing people, no matter who they are. I think it's an act of violence. But I do agree with her arguments. I like Jeremy a lot, but his anti-green-rants are getting very old.

I think people like her do more harm than good to the environmental cause. It might make headlines, but it isn't the event they strike at or the reasons for doing it that people remember - it's Jeremy covered in pie or Peter Mandelson looking like an escapee from The Exorcist. Like everything else, I firmly believe that a moderate approach is the best way to deal with things. Extreme arguments on either side of the debate just alienate people. And I wish they'd sort out what they mean when they talk about 'climate change', because there are several different issues that have been bundled under that banner, and they don't have the same causes or solutions. And a lot of the arguments are based on bad science as well. Don't get me wrong, I'm not denying that things are changing, and I'm not saying we aren't having an impact - we clearly are - but at the same time some climate change is a natural occurance. We are, after all, technically in the inter-glacial phase of an ice age, and that means that ice caps melt and refreeze, water levels rise, land masses change and extinctions of some plant and animal species will occur (though obviously this is completely separate from the issue of extinction by hunting or deliberate destruction of environment). I am enjoying the comments on this story very much though. It seems most people don't have a lot of sympathy for the obnoxious little madam. Personally, I think if she wants to make a difference to the environment, she should shut her cakehole and keep the hot air in

And use every function on it just to make it worse for the environment.... Does she not realise people are laughing at her, and not with her? I'm all for protesting for what you believe to be right, but she's going too far and making a fool out of herself.

I think she is a t*t but there is absolutely no point in damaging the world we live in just to make a counterargument. It's like crapping on the floor because you dont see why you should have to flush the loo. I love Jermey's joie de vivre, his honesty, his emotional responses (Aries people rock! ) but the way he bangs on about eco-menmtalists is frankly beneath him. He has kids for goodness' sake, he should take their future on this planet more seriously. *puts away soapbox*

The problem for Jeremy is his TV persona is seen as his whole persona. He is as eco-friendly as the majority. He recycles, he has an organic farm, he loves bird-life, etc, but because his TV "act" is that of a ranting planet hating, sexist moron at times, people tend to think that is the whole man. I do find it at times boring too now, and worry that if he doesn't change that tact a little, he will in the end bring about his own destruction. However, violence, however soft it seems, isn't acceptable towards anyone, no matter what they have done or said, and these ecomentalists need to realise they are the other side of the Clarkson coin and they're both as bad as each other, and therefore, achieve pretty much the same thing. Nothing.

Rebecca Lush (is she REALLY called that or is it another pathetic attention-grabbing ploy : will probably report you herself. She seems to be rather touchy. Personally, re-reading her rant against the 'lush' Mr Clarkson I think she has a secret crush ;D ;D

I can picture the punch-up now, all flailing dreadlocks and ripped out nose rings and torn Tibetan peace trousers...

I agree with the above. There is that BBC 2 programme, 'It's Not Easy Being Green' and it shows all the positive ways on how to be more green and use less power/water etc. It's enlightening and that is a good example, it's not too preachy and is educational. I saw David Attenborough last week on Jonathan Ross and he has a far more rational and clear focus about how climate change can be slowed down, otherwise the environment and creatures will be lost. After all it's being educated about these things that something can be done. I agree with Ly and the whole Jeremy stance and he does do wonderful things, it's just not evident in his regular LOUDBRASH Jeremy he shows on the TV. Whoever that woman is and her extreme, stupid and bonkers behaviour it's a waste of food and energy which could have been used in a far more positive manner. (Sorry Wy for the previous image but it's true )

I didn't realise this was the same 'angry bird'? I agree tho', there are far more intelligent ways of campaigning for a cause, than the childish methods employed by these people. On the other extreme, you have the ALF, same passion, misguided methods!

I can't believe how smug that woman looked on the news after she had attacked Mandelson. A friend of mine used to work for a Dutch cabinet minister who was pied once. She (the cabinet minister) played it down in the press, but my friend told me she had been scared absolutely sh*tless. In the moment it happens, you don't know what it is that's happening.

I do believe something does need to be done to save the planet but putting food in people faces is not the answer.
The government should also stop using the environment to make up taxes. Where i am from there trying to give us a rubbish dump on my doorstep because there saying the people who live down south have no where to put there rubbish.
Yet at the same time they can not make up the minds about what rubbish we can put in each bin. Also there trying to make it in Nottingham that business are taxed for each parking space they have forgetting the fact people use there car because they have to not because they want to. All this is going to to do is put people out of work if they want us out of the car they need to make public transport more relible and cheaper.
The new Nottingham trams have shown the government that cheap reliable transport works without having to threating anyone.
And has for Jeremy does anyone really listen to him when he goes on a anti Eco rant.
Sorry for my little rant.

Anyway, it's still scary.
