I'll use my judgement... if any details are revealed, and he's erecting the bridge across the canal, if I'm not working, I will probably pop over and have a discreet peek, nothing intrusive

I wonder how easy or not it will be to construct. It's not something you can construct indoors and then take outside really.

I'm no engineer, but I guess if they build it in pieces, and reconstruct it that way? After all, when they had La Princesse (the giant mechanical spider) in Liverpool, they constructed that the other side of the Mersey and transported it to Liverpool, so a comparatively small bridge should be fairly easy?

Here's hoping! It wouldn't be good if anyone fell into the water.

Here's hoping! It wouldn't be good if anyone fell into the water. That would probably only happen on TG!

I sincerely promise MG!... TBH, I've been a little worried about the whole 'Twitter stalking' issue... I honestly swear that I've only had an eye on Liverpool for the sake of keeping up with the news. I'd be lying if I said I wouldn't like to see/meet James one day, but I have the utmost respect for James, and wouldn't dream of compromising his privacy, nor would I do anything to make him feel uncomfortable!... Sorry, I'll take my medication now!

No, that is a nice thing to say and anyone with a right mind, ie all of us on here, would feel exactly the same.

Been posted on FG. Sorry, it isnt this sunday, its a week on sunday. Been postponed for a week... We have had no end of problems, Meccano in france not sending the correct parts for weeks and then not sending enough and the engineering firm Atkins changing the plans halfway through the build.. We have just exhausted the entire stock of nuts, and think we have used 41,000 of them so far and over £36,000 of meccano parts... We dont have enough people, the Meccano clubs are next to useless.. The Newcastle group esp is a waste of space.. The made two sections to 'help' and turned up on monday all smug saying how they had saved the day, when in reality what they built was wrong. His '40' years of meccano experience was c**p then... Plus James said on camera that what they did was rubbish!! We have been working on this for 5 weeks, working 9am till 9pm and Im cream crackered... One more week to go.. By the way when the program is on tv and James says how relaxing and rewarding Meccano is, its because he turns up for a few hours filming and the skives off again.. Very nice guy though

They should have started this weeks ago. At least when the garden was winding down. And they should have guaranteed all the bits before starting. And the design that's just daft changing it. I empathise completely with the people doing the Meccano and know that it's far harder than plasticine and I hope they can still feel their finger tips after all those nuts. The organisation has been slightly concerning but this is TV and why am I not surprised and it was ambitious any way, no doubt it'll still be an amazing thing when it's completed.
