Hi all,
I was invited by Starfish yesterday on DT and I thought I'd take a look around. I haven't been here since Christmas, since I've been taking classes all year.
I have to say to Devonsdarling, you're very welcome. I wasn't sure what time it came on until I Googled it yesterday, but I taped it as well. My God, it looks so much better on TV, even though I've been watching it for the last year on YouTube. James (granted he looked great all the time) looked absolutely gorgeous after he said, "and some might say, eaten by killer sharks." The way his eyes widened after that was intoxicating. He reminded me of Pierce Broslin at that point, whom I always thought was gorgeous too. My husband watched it with me for his very first time and thought the scenery was beautiful and James' sense of humour was terrific. He does have that Michael Palin humour that I love so much.

You just mentioned two of my biggest "crushes" in one comment! Way to go maureen!

Hi Adco,
Sounds like we have the same taste in men. How cool. :-)

I laugh when some of the younger ones here talk about being much younger than the object of your crushes. I had a crushes on Michael Palin and Mick Jagger as a girl and they are my dad's age! I'm often amazed that I married a younger man.

*shaking Liz's hand in return* I seem to "admire from afar" older men, but in actual practice I've only even dated one man that was older and that didn't go well.

My hubby's eight years younger than me, but our outlook on life matches perfectly... ;D

My husband is less than a year younger, but all significant things happen during the time I am "a year older", such as our wedding and child's birth so I'm older than him on all official records, even though for some of the year we are the same. My husband's cousin, recently divorced from a man her age, is dating a man twenty years younger. The family is in an uproar (he went to school with her son) but I feel if you can do it, do it! Age isn't that important in the grand scheme of things.

The only time I felt it a problem, was when we started dating. We both thought we were about the same age, and it didn't even come up in conversation until after a couple of weeks... the thing that struck me at the time was I was 37, and when he said 29 (even though he was only a few months off 30) it hit me... I know it sounds daft, but it was the 20 something part of it, he sounded so young! I'm rejoicing now though, because he's 40 this year, and joining me in 'old age'! lol

Age matters less the older you are. I get what you thought about the twenty-something though. It sounds so young!

My husband is ten years older than me and as all know here, that has not gone well... his whole 'turning into a woman' thing has really put a crimp in things. But it hasn't put me off older men, just ones who express more than a passing interest in my underwear (when I'm not in it)...

Wy, that underwear comment cracked me up! It's highly unlikely that you could meet another man, older or younger, and find yourself in this situation again!

From Adco I laugh when some of the younger ones here talk about being much younger than the object of your crushes. I had a crushes on Michael Palin and Mick Jagger as a girl and they are my dad's age! I know what you mean, Adco ;D. My main crushes are usually between 3 to 12 years older than me, but I've had crushes on several guys who were my parents ages too. Some of them were Nigel Bennette, Ronnie James Dio, and (he's around my in-laws ages) Ian McKellan. My husband is four years older than I am.

remember Professor Samuel Gruber who showed James the little lemon sharks. Well he made a appearance on Mythbusters Shark special 2 nights ago. Jamie and Adam went to the exact same places as James was.

And I saw him on CNN as well couple of weeks ago, to comment on a shark related news item. He must be a real expert then. (or just very easily to contact. ;D)
I love this programme. It even made me decide to take up diving and last month I finally got certified. As I posted before, I met a (reef) shark five minutes into my first dive ever.
