Thanks UM!... as I said, I'd not long been taking pics when I realised my battery was low, and had the rest of the day to go, so as I knew I was coming back next week, I decided to save the rest till then

Aww, good idea! Whenever I go photographing I always have to remember to have some spare batteries in my bag! Don't have a big memory card though but the batteries usually run out before the memory gets filled up!!

Here's a worm about to be pounced on by a mole! The rest of my photos are here but be warned that they may be spoilery as they do show behind the scenes at the studio when the garden was being created! PS: I'm in a couple of them. Sorry about that. You may wish to shield your eyes...

Fascinating pictures, Wy. I love seeing behind the scenes, sometimes it's more interesting than in front!

Would just like to say that I did find the following comment - Oh, that's not nice!! - to be a little annoying. Think about it - if I hadn't made it, the chances are I might have met the person who DID make it. Saying that sort of thing is unwise IMO - if you don't like something, you don't ACTUALLY HAVE to say anything at all.

Your photo of the elephant in the train station was a shock! I didn't expect to see that! Has it always been there as a decoration or is it a recent thing?

Daisy - It's not that it wasn't beautifully made, I didn't mean it that way, just not a fan of those creatures myself. And it was a close up photo too which made it look even bigger! There was a link on the BBC website about those animals that you might be interested in. They had them in a lab and were studying them to find out how their webs were made I think. I didn't go into detail in the article. news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/sci/tech/8083962.stm

FYI Daisy has a phobia of spiders. Don't look at the link Daisy. I don't know why Daisy made it but just because she could

Oh, I thought she was the person on here who liked them. Sorry, got muddled. There is someone on here who collects/loves them isn't there?

There isn't any one on here that does. If you look further back in the thread, this discussion has been had before. I think the consensus was it was either a phobia or it wasn't anything to worry about.

Absolutely but the big house ones which look like they could eat you would go in the sin bin. Although the love aspect isn't a strong.

I quite like those...Summer was trying to catch one the other night. She didn't realise it had got inside a plastic bag, so no matter how hard she tried, she couldn't get to it!

My dog, Fred, used to jump up at flies and try to bit them. He got one in his mouth once and it was a hilarious sight watching him try to get it out of his mouth again. Didn't stop him from doing it again in the future though. Sometimes dogs just don't learn.

I had a dog that just would not learn his lesson with hedgehogs. Most dogs will sniff a hedgehog, get a prickled nose and leave them alone, but not my stupid dog. As far as he was concerned, the hedgehog had hurt him, so he was going to get his own back. So he'd attack them, quite often kill them, and leave us with the jobs of a) disposing of bits of hedgehog and b) getting all the prickles out of his mouth and nose and cleaning up all the blood.
He met his match when a badger wandered into the garden though ;D

FYI Daisy has a phobia of spiders. Don't look at the link Daisy. *quakes* I definately won't do that. I only intended to make ickle spiddys, but someone (might have been Rebecca) said 'TARANTULA' and I thought, why the heck not? I was actually more scared by the little Bobs - the plasticine had got warm, so I put one of them in the fridge to cool down, and then forgot he was in there and opened the door. just as well I hadn't gone into the fridge for anything easily destructible, or it would have been at the other side of the kitchen. I did scream and then remembered that Bob was made of wire and plasticine ;D I think Fred didn't scare me because he ended up being so ridiculously huge that it was obvious that he couldn't be real. My Elvis loves hedgehogs. She sits in the garden and waits for them to come and steal the peanuts that are meant to be for the birds.

Oh dear!! I take it the badger fought back? It was really funny. There wasn't any fighting, but for a while the dog would be chasing the badger, and then the badger would turn around and chase the dog. Eventually the badger thought sod this for a game of soldiers and took his whiskery grey behind elsewhere. Big Fred is very, very awesome. I thought the ickle Bobs were cute too, but then, I'm strange like that
