I do so love Edward Lear!! ;D ;D MOH's cat yesterday... "No one can see me! I am invisible!" *laughs hysterically* Oh I love cats they're so much fun! My cat wrapped herself rather weirdly in a blanket, but she moved JUST when I went for the camera.

Of course she did!! My guys love the camera so much, I can hardly get a picture of them in cute poses or funny situations. They see the camera and come running! ;D

I was convinced my firdt digital camera came with a built in animal deterrent. It didn't matter what kind of animal it was, whenever I tried to photograph one, it would instantly stop doing the cute thing it had been doing for ages and/or run away!

It didn't matter what kind of animal it was, whenever I tried to photograph one, it would instantly stop doing the cute thing it had been doing for ages and/or run away! My first digital camera had a wrist strap attached so if I went to take a picture of my cat she'd stop what she was doing and attack my camera. But here's one I got when we forgot to put the grocery bags away in time. I think I shrunk this one a bit too much on PB, but she actually put herself in the bag-when I picked the bag up after taking the picture, hey look, I went to the store and came home with this cat! She does this whenever she gets cold-I didn't get a picture, but in January when it was -20 outside (and the heat was unable to keep up), she was burrowing underneath any blankets possible, it was so cute. Plus I got the cat to snuggle with me (she's rather mean and antisocial), because the cold human was huddling under all the blankets she could!

可愛いねこですよ。 (Cute cat!) Those were funny. My cat's the same with boxes and she prefers lounging in the bathtub to the sink. Unless you turn the water on. THEN she's gone. I nearly got her a few days ago, I didn't drain the tub immediately because it was cold in the apartment, and she was about to jump into the tub, and she did one heck of a mad scramble to avoid falling in once she saw what she was about to jump into. Made brushing my teeth a bit messier with me laughing hysterically. ;D

We had a very cute visitor today (we live on the first floor). I was sitting on the sofa watching cartoons with my son when I suddenly saw something moving in the balcony (through glass door). I went to the door and saw a huge grey long-haired cat inspecting the flowers, then the table, chairs and all. Then it looked at me, sat down in front of the door and meowed as if saying "watcha looking at? let me in" Of course I could not let it in (was very tempted, it was beautiful), the owner wouldn't like that, I think. Then it jumped over the railing and was gone.

My husband decided to vacuum the apartment today. Now normally my cat would hide in the closet underneath my hanging shelves, but guess where he started vacuuming? Yep, bedroom closet. So she did this instead. "Nothing to see here..." "Pay no attention to that cat behind the monitors!" "Is he done with that infernal vacuum yet?" MOH has a somewhat elaborate computer setup and he'd BRILLIANTLY left his iced tea right by the keyboard. I had quite a good laugh watching Mimi scramble around trying to find a safe place to hide from the Evil Vacuum Cleaner. Miraculously the tea didn't get knocked over. Nor did anything else get broken or knocked over.

Our guys hide from the evi; vacuum cleaner too. But they get fair warning before it gets turned on. We usually try to herd them into the bedroom - a "safe" area. They insist on creeping out to watch, then give us dirty looks when we turn the machine on. "Well, we told you!" ;D Mimi looks truly put out!!

Many moons ago, my mum had a cat that liked being hoovered ;D he would actually get in the way (only if the nozzle and hose attachment were being used though!) and sit down, and then give the "GROOM ME NAO, SLAVE" look.

She was quite put out, there was a vacuum in her usual hiding spot! I can't think of anything else off the top of my head that terrifies this cat like the vacuum. My former kitty Cookie was terrified beyond all reason of thunderstorms (one time I found him hiding in the pet carrier, and we had to surprise him, wrap him in a towel, and shove him in that thing for a trip to anywhere), but they don't bother Mimi. That was very considerate of you jacqui. Your cat might have you trained rather well. Up until reading TheDaisy's story, I'd never heard of a cat that liked a vacuum either.

This old man has taken to spending the long sunny days snoozing on top of the hot tub, but he usually runs away when I get the camera out. Today he tried a different approach - hiding behind the old washing up bowl. I don't know who he belongs to but he definitely likes the garden here and he doesn't seem to bother MF's cats too much. I've nicknamed him Fuskalike, for obvious reason!

There's a cat visiting us every now and then too. He's a stray, but we're sure that he had a home once. He's a bit afraid of people, but my mom has stroked him on the head several times. He has almost become a member of our "cat family". Our cats don't mind him at all, and our youngest runs around playing with him We guess he's her father, since they have exactly the same features. He's a typical Norwegian Wood, with long brown and white fur and a beautiful face

Might you have a picture of said cat? He sounds adorable! ;D Actually, I have! ;D My mom sent me a really beautiful photo she took of him through the kitchen window one day: He is very skinny, and his coat is full of tangles But imagine how beautiful he would have been with a lot of love and care! Awh, I want him.. I secretly hope that as he's learning to trust people again, he'll move in with us ;D I think my mom would love to have him there too, since she is already feeding him at our veranda and talks about him all the time ;D He's been accepted by our cats, and he dares to eat the food my mom gives him while she is sitting right next to the plate.

You'll need to put her on a stick to clean the hot tub lid though, it's too far to reach otherwise.

And now, in breaking news, the prime minister has told the BBC that Larry the cat has caught three mice since he moved into Number 10. This is Larry who sported a patriotic bow tie on the day of the royal wedding.

I've laughed louder and longer this afternoon than I have for a long time.
I was sitting working on my laptop, which is on a table at the back of the room, next to the big window (virtually the whole back wall) with Molly dozing by the window. I saw Sandy, the big ginger cat from next door, saunter up the terrace towards the back door but didn't think much of it as he never tries to come through the catflap, just sniffs and moves on. Molly doesn't usually pay much attention to him. I saw her look up but carried on with my work.
Thirty seconds later there was one hell of a commotion at the back door, and I looked up to see Sandy run back down the terrace, hotly pursued by Molly, who was wearing the catflap round her waist! She sort-of ground to a standstill by the window as her legs got all tangled up and she went 'a over t', shed the cat flap and continued, but Sandy had gone by then.
I had to lean against the wall, I was laughing so much. Molly, however, just looked affronted.
So now I've got to rebuild the cat flap!
