HAHA I love it. I want a drinks cabinet in my car "for emergencies". And a bottle of sloe gin, now Jeremy's mentioned it.

I notice before they started playing with the site there was a behind the scenes video that was not working and now its gone all together. I wanted to know what was on it because it showed you James in the little screen cap you click on.

Mmmmmmmmmm - I love sloe gin. It's properly medicinal in all the right ways. A friend grows his own sloes in his garden and he's promised us a bottle for Christmas - yummy. I'd also have a bottle of single malt. I could go on.....

Ok now I have a new project: find out how/if I can grow sloes down here somehow. Hmm. *seriousface*

Be cheaper to just import the stuff, wouldn't it?
By the way, there's a drink here in the States called a Screwdriver (vodka and orange juice) Replace the vodka with Southern Comfort whisky and you get a Comfortable Screw. Add sloe gin to the mix and it's a Slow Comfortable Screw.
We should invent a drink called the Captain Slow.

Add sloe gin to the mix and it's a Slow Comfortable Screw. We should invent a drink called the Captain Slow. I'm familiar with those beverages. Very familiar, as it happens. Furthermore, if you add Galliano to that last combination, you get a Slow Comfortable Screw Against The Wall. As for the 'Captain Slow', I've been working on it for some time, but I can't find the right mixer. I figure dark rum (the 'captain' bit) and sloe gin, and that suggests the mixer needs to be spicy-ish. I feel the need for some serious experimentation here, because I think ginger beer might work, but the proportions will be tricky. Then again, it might be better to use spiced rum, in which case goodness only knows what to mix it with.

You could use Captain Morgan for the "captain" and sloe gin for the "slow". Though he'd probably be happiest with some combination of alcohol and a nice cuppa

LOL @ Richard. That "test pattern" jumper is slowly growing on me! I can't fault a man who wears what he likes and doesn't give a toss what people think. Also, I cannot believe that The Stripey Jumper Of Doom was *ever* "purple and red". It was always pink, James! Pink is a rather manly colour, honest.

Personally, I'd have said purple and magenta......both very nice colours ;D

Ah yes - magenta's actually a bit more accurate. One of my favorite colors.

Love the way James refers to the stripes as "layers of strata". Naughty thoughts are running through my mind, ..............bugger, ............... this thread isn't locked! He mentions parts of the Interweb where his shirts are taken apart and criticised, no James we don't criticise we just comment on the ones that suit you better than others!

Well he did mention the BFS Thread (indirectly) in the Intro to Car Fever, correct?
And Richard's reaction just had me inhaling my tea from laughing. that's just hilarious ;D

I reckon he's secretly flattered by all the attention we pay him, it's all done in such good taste on this board (thanks to our mods) that he can't mind at all.

I also love the moments (usually in outtakes) when Clarkson and Hammond are bouncing off each other and having fun and then James comes in with the little comment that makes them both die laughing.

How right you are chariset, James does it so casually that you think he's about to say something very mundane. I notice that he often says such funny lines with such a straight face and yet Jezza & Richard just die laughing.

I was at another message board where the conversation turned to Top Gear, and someone said they'd been to Top Gear Live when Jeremy and Hammond were hosting. He said that he noticed and started to miss all the little subtle bits that James normally puts in.

Ha HA! He's defending himself for that moment in the Polar Special when he looked straight down the barrel of a rifle.

ROFLMAO. I had often wondered about that part! It was such a brief moment in the Polar Special that it's nice to be able to find out more about WHY on earth James was doing something that seemed so foolish, lol.
