As far as those last two photos are concerned (the two side by side) it's not just the hair, his expressions are so very different. The one of the left has him with his normal, cheerful smiley expression, though a very nice example of it. In the one on the right he has what I always think of as his "softer" expression, one where he looks rather vulnerable, as seen in these older pics: (There's also one somewhere of him holding Fusker where he (James, that is!) has the same expression, but I can't track it down, only the other two that are on our Fusker thread). (edit - found it!)

I've always been a sucker for longer hair on a man. I don't like it when it gets out of control and straggly, but at its longest James's is exactly what I like. (I can live with it shorter, of course!)
What I really dislike is this current trend for shaved or virtually shaved heads. I can understand if a bloke's going bald and wants to look as if he isn't, but when guys without that situation shave their heads to me it takes away all individuality and character.

(I can live with it shorter, of course!) Indeed. And of course, when he has to push it out of his eyes, well, I just go *swoooooon* *THUD* What I really dislike is this current trend for shaved or virtually shaved heads. I can understand if a bloke's going bald and wants to look as if he isn't, but when guys without that situation shave their heads to me it takes away all individuality and character. I've never understood that trend. Fine if you're going bald, sure; but that doesn't explain the teenagers/young men doing it. I just think it looks awful. (The fact that my mind automatically associates the look with skinheads probably doesn't help either, but there you are.) As for the topic of this thread... ohhh I can't decide! The smutty part of me wants to vote for the first picture, though. (Actually, my internet's a bit slow ATM, and that picture took a while to load. As soon as I knew where it was from, though, I thought, "Yes, joining this board was a VERY good idea - you truly are amongst like-minded folk, flyslip!" ;D )

Like the mind as much as the rest. Oooh indeed, dit. I can't remember who said it first but he really is the thinking woman's crumpet, is he not? The mind, the hair, the eyes, the hands.... (I could go on ;D ) it's all one highly appealing package, am I right?

I think he looks gorgeous, distinguished, proud, happy..... . I am glad his robes were red and blue rather than boring black, I think James would have liked that too. I would still love to know if his parents, siblings or Sarah were there with him to join in his happy day.

I would still love to know if his parents, siblings or Sarah were there with him to join in his happy day. Indeed... there's something to be said about coloured robes! (Especially teamed with a floral shirt. ;D ) (I winced when I saw my university graduation robes, years back... the black I could deal with, but the hot pink collar... doesn't do a redhead any favours! LOL.) I do hope, too, that at least one of his family or nearest & dearest were there to share the day with him... it's something special, that's for sure, and something best shared with family. (Personally, I wasn't going to go to my graduation, until my parents and younger brother said they'd be driving down for it specially... and as mum couldn't get more than three days off, they drove 1,000 miles in a day just to spend graduation day with me, before driving 1,000 miles back home! That was pretty touching... )
