In the interest of redeeming Facebook a little, my sister just posted this to me:
Joseph found Top Gear. He liked it. He shared it with me. I liked it. Its our new thing. We saw the the Bolivia episode, at least the first part. Histarical!
A convert!

I'm going for a gentler approach. I'm just going to crawl up slowly, one handful at a time.
Dear God, what an amazing picture! Is that definitely an old jacket, though? I thought the ones I'd seen before were darker blue than this one?

This was posted on my FaceTube wall: A brewery tour with James Sounds interesting! Fuller's London Pride: You may have noticed that we have a couple of things "still fermenting" on the London Pride Facebook page. Next week they will have fermented and you will be able to take a tour of our famous Griffin Brewery with James May being guided by our Head Brewer, John Keeling. John will also be taking James through the Fuller'...s range with some tastings. The tastings took place in the Hock Cellar on our brewery site. Here's an image we took on the day. We look forward to sharing more next week. /The London pride TeamEdited to say: the image mentioned is the picture DMC posted above.

I've just sent an e-mail to Fullers, asking them very nicely if some of the facebook content could be put on their website for we Luddites. I've written it in a jokey style, so they might just bother to answer!
I've also cropped some of the ads to create head and shoulder shots (yes, I know that isn't necessarily the best bits!) and put them in the pics thread.

Well, well, well... I thought London Pride isn't sold in this country but today in our local grocery store I found a shelf full of the aformentioned beer! I know there are many foreign beers on offer in our stores these days but I haven't taken much notice of them because I don't normally drink beer. Didn't buy a bottle of LP yet because a) I'm a cider gal, and b) it's much more expensive than Finnish beers. But one of these days I will, and only because James advertises it. What I won't do, however, is go and buy a Dacia Logan. Namely, my husband has heard a radio commerical on the Finnish radio channel The Voice which says "Do like James May has done, testdrive Dacia Logan". I'm not kidding, though I haven't heard the said commercial (I don't listen to the radio much), my hubby's not the lying type.

The British craftsmanship poster is very fetching indeed. I shall have to concentrate on my driving skills when I drive past that one. Shame about the quiz - but I expect it'll be available to non facepackers some time or other.
It'll be interesting to see if the campaign works. Mr Crumbs will opt for Pride occasionally at our local but I know that James's endorsement will make no difference to his choice. May encourage some ladies to buy a pint or two though! Thinking about it, they're probably trying to entice doubters aged 25-45 away from lager or older boys away from their 'usual'. Not easy.
The ads are OK - he is gorgeous of course but I think more humour would've been good myself. Personal choice (and I do try and remain objective hard though that is!!!!) of course.

I've had a further think (not always a good thing but done when I have time on my hands! ie. poorly) and if this is geared through facepack then they are, I assume, trying to appeal to the under 30s. Having said that, a few of my friends (male and female in equal part) use it (not many though!) and they are, erm, over 40.
Blimey, I'm being right boring. I'll shut up now and catch up with what else has been happening.

Fullers just kindly posted this on my FaceTube wall ;D It seems there are more James advert to come in the future Fuller's London Pride: Some of you have been asking where the TV ads were filmed. We shot them at the Scarsdale Tavern in London. And we shot some more, somewhere else. But more on that another time... /The London Pride Team

*will not go against my principles and get facebook just so I can keep in touch with this ad campaign*
*trying hard not to weaken* You could join and use a fake name and matching fake e-mail address. Simply don't post anything. Noone will know it's you, so you won't get any invites to become friends. Don't invite anyone yourself. You would still be able to access all the fanpages you want, eg Top Gear, London Pride etc. It might be giving in to something you don't like, but Facebook and similar social neworks are here to stay. Facebook has well over 500 million accounts these days.
