He did work in the steel industry. James has spoken of it a couple of times. The priest idea, I think came from Wikipedia Not sure how true that could be.

On Wikipedia it now says that James' maternal great grandparents were Armenian immigrants from Iran. ;D
I think some joker has great fun in putting up this little lies to see how long they last.

The problem with James is that he is so prodigiously intelligent that you could well believe him capable of quite a lot of things. Speak eleven languages? Check. Solve Fermat's Last Theorem? Check. Whip up a cheese souffle whilst explaining the Wankel rotary engine? Check.

There's just been a cringeworthy trailer for the day with re-written words for "Happy Birthday to you". They really are trying!
Anyone picked up yet what time the 'day' starts? Most of Dave's 'days' start at 1pm.

According to the Sky TV listings, there are a couple of episodes of TG from 8am to 10am, and then what could be termed the 'Jamesathon', or maybe the 'Mayathon', begins at 11am. Should be a good day's TV! ;D

Mind you, I have such a large collection of James' programs and TG on DVD or hard drive, I could probably keep the marathon going for quite a while!!
But a big thank-you to Dave TV for giving him the kudos he deserves!! ;D ;D

Grizabella, that's surely not news anymore, is it? I mean, MTV3 Max has been airing Top Gear for years now, hasn't it? If you don't get the channel I'm sure you'll get to see the newest episodes some time later because it's pretty much a done deal MTV3 will air them in a later date like it has done all these years. Top Gear is such an asset to the company I don't think they will ever completely remove it from the free-to-air channel. We have the MTV3 pay channel package - we've had it ever since it became available because hubby and I are huge Formula 1 fans and we wanted to see the live coverage of the qualifications and races - and it's been real pleasure for such a big James May fan as I am. In addition to Top Gear we got the two space programs last fall, loved them both. As a resident of the current European Capital of Culture (so they say) and living in a apartment building that has a cable TV we who have pay channels and therefore a cable card have also access to a bonus channel. The bonus channel airs one pay channel for free every month, and last October the bonus channel was BBC Knowledge. Our DVR is now full of old (season 8 and 9) Top Gear episodes, and the three episodes of James May's Big Ideas are also there. I really couldn't believe my luck when the month we had access to BBC Knowledge included a weekend dedicated to Top Gear and its presenters in various other programs. It was fun to see Jeremy's old shows from the 1990's - his long dark curls made me think I was watching someone doing a parody of him, so different he looked back then. ;D My point was, don't worry Grizabella, I'm certain you'll get to see Top Gear even from now on. You'll just have to be patient though it's not really fair our favorite programs are moved to pay channels little by little.

Wow, I just checked the program chart for MTV3 Max for tonight, and read that after another repeat of a Top Gear episode (best of seasons 11 and 12, part 4) there will be James May at the Edge of Space airing at 7.25. MTV3 Max celebrating James's birthday as well? ;D

Thanks to Dave for doing this.
I go to bed late as a matter of course, but it's still going on even now. I popped out briefly in bad weather to get essentials but other than that it's been on all day, sometimes with me watching avidly, at other times just nice to have James' voice bumbling on in the corner when I'm doing other stuff. There's been nothing I haven't seen before, but of course you miss little things every time and it's lovely to see the episodes again.
As I've said many a time before, "I love you, Dave"!

No just his appearance on Toy Stories, sat there on the chair looking very cute as if butter wouldn't melt Thanks. I was kinda' hoping there had been a new scene or photo of the little guy! But I'll take what I can get! I have the photo from the newspaper of James holding Fusker as part of my revolving screen saver. I go, "Aaww!" every time it comes up! ;D ;D
