I have three young nephews and the last thing they're thinking about is whether their music and sporting heroes prefer the company of men or women. It's adults that teach those prejudices to children, so whether the people they admire are gay, straight or somewhere in the middle really doesn't make any difference unless they're taught that it should. Maybe all it says is that the kids themselves don't care. And if it suggests anything else, well, growing up as anything other than straight is challenging enough as it is. A few role models can only be a good thing.
