Well, he IS a captain, after all. He's gotta get his booty somewhere, you know. ;D Guarantee you that would've been censored here. Finally watched the ML ep...he was so close to the goal...another 3 feet and he would've made it. And why imagine Hammond's head as the football? Why not Jezza's? I thought Jeremy annoyed him more.. I'm crying inside...no more Man Lab anymore? He said the series is over. Did he mean the season or the entire show is done? Anyone know? I'm pretty sure that what we in the US call a "season" of television shows, in the UK is called a "series". We, in the US, use the word series to mean the show itself. In a interview I heard recently (don't remember which one) James was talking about more ideas that they have had for man lab. So I don't think the show has been canceled. Although, he didn't specifically say it had been renewed. It does seem that he anticipates doing more shows though. Correct. In the UK, we refer to a series rather than a season. The main series is over but there is still a Christmas show to come which, if I was a betting man, I would stake a fiver on being the opener to the TG Christmas show. He has talked about hoping for a third series, but that has yet to be commissioned.

And "hardy" means ...what I think it means... as in hard , you know... I think it was just a saucy play on words, nothing too smutty. A double entendre using Nelson's supposed final quote 'kiss me Hardy' which he altered to 'Kiss my Hardy'. A bit like a quote from a 'Carry On' film! Oooooo Matron! Oh thanks Crumbs. I'd not heard of the "Kiss me Hardy" quote. How uneducated of me. All makes sense now.

He has talked about hoping for a third series, but that has yet to be commissioned. Thank you for clearing that up for me, everyone. I figured it was just a lack of understanding the terminology on my part. It would seem silly that James would make all of.. what, 7 episodes? And then decide he is over and done with it and move on to something else. I remember reading somewhere that he has wanted to do this sort of thing for years on end..I'm sure he has a lot more ideas he wants to do, not to mention the things I bet fans have been writing in and requesting that he do. For some reason, I get the impression he seems to be more at ease in ML than at TG; it's like he can take his shoes off and be himself more and play. Does anyone else get that?

James is still the darling of the BBC because of his Top Gear role. His other projects have been, what I would call, safe subjects and typical of classy BBC programmes. However, I think he and the BBC have taken a chance with Man Lab, gone out on a limb, so to speak. It is so his own, and so different from anything else on TV. To be honest with you, when I saw the very first episode, I felt awful because I thought it would be a flop, a non-starter and I felt for him when I read the adverse comments. But, the show has just got better and better. This second series was a vast improvement on the first. The critics are liking it and the public are watching it, so there has got to be a third series. I can breathe again

I'm really looking forward to the Christmas show - cutting down a 35ft tree with a small bomb and decorating with bauble motar from a blunderbuss gun, then creating crackers that boom like thunder.Oz Clarke is dispatched in a small plane armed with a salt shaker to see if cloud seeding will produce a snow storm, and he also performs the trick of genrerating inhalable whisky clouds in a bottle. I can't wait to see all this.

Apparently there's a repeat on Christmas night at 10.30pm. Sounds good - to settle down at the end of the day with a full tummy and feeling slightly foggy due to lots of alcohol, to allow oneself to be seduced by visions of James (even though I'll already have seen it on the 18th....)
Now all I have to do is convince the friends I'm going to be staying with that they want to watch it too.
