I agree, he's got that slight smile and slightly raised eyebrow look.

I believe there was a hair color commercial years ago that used the slogan "You're not getting older, you're getting better". I think that would apply to James. He seems so much healthier and it shows. It is also said your hair is an indicator of your general health and he has beautiful hair, looks soft, fluffy.

To intentionally misquote ZZ Top, "He's got LEGS, and he knows how to use them...." (Gawd help me)

To intentionally misquote ZZ Top, "He's got LEGS, and he knows how to use them...." (Gawd help me) Frankly, I think it was the thighs that got me in the first place. Followed by the looks, the hair, the wit, the personality, the bum.....(feel free to add to this list!)

And that he dresses like he wants and doesn't give a Sh*t what people think. That's called confidence. I agree 100% about the above mentioned qualities as well.

Agree with Vivienne. He looks comfy and happy. Also admit that as great as they look on him, I'd love to see those comfy duds drop to the floor...

Pic #2 = James May at his avuncular best. He seems like he'd be the very model for a Favorite Uncle.

Am I missing these extra bits in my UK DVD, or have I just not noticed him pushing a kid round on a tractor before?!

It's easy to miss Vienna. On mine, It's on Disc 1, Extras, Oz and James Uncorked. (Listed above their biographies). I only just noticed it the other day, and I've had the DVD for ages!

I thought there was a thread for photos of 'Young James' but I can't find one, so here's a pic of a very young man.

Is that a giant screw driver/ chisel/ crow bar he is holding? Do you know how old he is in that picture?

Crowbar, mid-30s - it's a still from a Top Gear episode from 1999, if I recall correctly. He was playing the role of a comedy gangster. It's really embarrassing and naff, but if you want to blush on James May's behalf, here it is: www.youtube.com/watch?v=IkWHG-Vqrv8If I recall another thing, James May actually despises the S-type Jag. Said it was designed to appeal to Germans and Americans and that it was a bit precious and "Olde-y Worlde-y."

America? Is that the blue Vanquish?

Post by dit on Aug 24, 2013 8:21:54 GMT
I'm pretty sure it's America. I've got it listed in my file as 'desert 4' which, with that bright blue car in the background, suggests it's the Vanquish.
I'll post 'desert's 1 - 3 as soon as I get a moment (busy weekend).

I thought it must be a little bit older pic, 'cause he looks a bit stout in that shot, but not too old because his hair is almost entirely grey, and in that especially bushy haircut he's had for the past couple of series. It's kind of layered, which brings out the best of his hair's utter exuberance. For hair as wild as that can only be described as exuberant!

Yes, looks like Southern California (here) or Mexico, not much difference in the two. If you were a pigeon wouldn't you like the roof?
