October 31, 2013 It was nearly 2 years ago that Top Gear presenters James May and Jeremy Clarkson chose Lancelin to stay in while they performed their live show in Perth. They spent 4 nights at "Solitude", a stunning holiday home on the beach and choppered back and forth to Perth for their shows. They had their own security guard who monitored the beach side of the home to ensure paparazzi and reporters didn't bother them but he had little to do as the media never caught on. On one of the days they visited the island and enjoyed a game of "rounders' as can be seen here with Tonya Illman catching and her son Jayce on 2nd base. James was spotted riding the Illman's moped around town and Jeremy bought nearly all of the hardware store's stock of fly nets and fly spray. They gave the town two thumbs-up and left with some great memories.   |
