We have moose here. They're pretty agreeable creatures as long as you don't mess with the calves. Biggest problem is that they wander out in the road and get hit by cars...since adult moose can weigh nearly a ton, the car usually loses.

What nice experiences you ladies have had with moose. I love it when you can hang with the wildlife. Maybe I'm just repeating a vicious moose rumor. A ranger in Yellowstone and my fishing guide in British Columbia strongly warned me about "dangerous moose". Maybe they were just trying to save the moose from me? ;D They don't look that troublesome in Norway... Just kidding. It says staged.

There is a nice arboretum near me which is open to the public. It has some pleasant walks through mature conifer woods and, for some reason, a life size wooden moose stood in the middle of them.
No explanation. It looks just like the picture above, which is what reminded me.

I've seen moose car accidents and trust me, you don't want to be anywhere near the woods after dark on the back roads. I live in the moose state and there are far too many accidents already!

You know what - this is why i love this place - an interview with James about TG Live - ends up being a crash course in the difference between an Elk and Moouse - fantastic ;D

The most probable thing you're likely to come into contact with on the road in my neck of the woods is a squirrel, and sadly there's no contest as to which out of the squirrel and the car would come off worse (poor squirrels).
I've noticed a little further afield that we've got to the point in the year where pheasants are hurling themselves onto the roadways and ending up as crumpled heaps in the gutter. I guess Spring has sprung, and many poor beasts are sacrificing themselves on the altar of procreation.

Well... I have 5 deers in my back garden.... They completely ruined my grass-land since I've sold the horses though... troublesome, stupid animals My car nearly came in contact with one of them last year as I arrived home in the middle of the night. I thought I had a heart attack. But I did not, obviously

That's odd! I'm still getting the RAC one without any trouble, but now I can't get The Engineer one either.
However, if you go onto Google and type in "James May" "The Engineer" it comes up on the first page a couple of entries down, under 'My other car's a Panda|In-depth|The Engineer' or at least, it does for me!

No good - I can see the link to the interview listed on Google, but it still goes into the "subscribe" page.
Never mind

Apparently there's an interview with James in the April edition of FHM, which is out now. There is no way on god's earth that I would buy that magazine - but I'm wondering if anyone has a brother/bloke/husband who's bought a copy, and might be able to scan it in for us? There's a good picture advertising the interview on the FHM website.....

Is it the UK edition only? Because I don't care less if it is FHM or not, if I can get it in the Netherlands or even Germany *spits* I will buy it. It's James, after all. I don't care, you see

WASTE OF MONEY ALERT!
That is not the FHM UK website. The UK edition does not have that cover, nor any mention of James (checked it out in the Co-op yesterday)

I actually spent 10 minutes reading FHM yesterday trying to find the bloody interview, only finding out it was not there. Some blokes kept on staring at me, so I turned to them saying "I'm gay" which made them look like this ---> , I could not stop laughing. It was so much fun. Anyway, no James in the Dutch one I'm afraid. Probably none in the German one as well. Bugger.

Sorry if I've misled people (further up this page) but I put the info up in good faith. the interview is advertised on the FHM webpage with a date from earlier this week when I picked it up, it refers to it being the 'latest issue' and I don't imagine they would leave an old page up there.
What I don't understand is where it's being published, if not in the UK?
