The hair's grown a lot recently - heading for the longer length again. Wonder how soon he'll have it cut?

Actually, he should have been able to control that contraption with the power of his mind alone; he was able to on Big Ideas. Might at least have got him into the dry......

This came from a pub in Wales, the Cider Mill, described as a "Family run, award winning inn situated at the foot of the Black Mountainshttp://www.cidermill.co.uk." Nice to see James May here today even if it is only because his motobility scooter didn't make it up the... At that point it ran out. I assume the missing word is probably 'hill'. There was a facebook address, but the link's not working. fb.me/1zTlaoKyzEdit: also, a comment beneath a Mail online column about this story suggested they were 'insulting the diabled' which led to this rather sharp comment this morning from Gemma, of Abergavenny If everyone must know, Richard said they were in town on mobility scooters to find out how accessible different shops are for wheelchair users. Yes they have obviously put a spin on this, but for god sake it's Top Gear. It's one of the most watched shows in the world, if this doesn't raise awareness for wheelchair users, i don't know what will. Millions of people love the show and love these three. I was incredibly proud that they came to our town, they were all lovely, crew included, and very patient and understanding. I can't wait to see this episode air.Well said, Gemma!

Go Gemma! You derserve the JMB medal of common sense. ( Do we have a common sense medal???)
I hope it does raise awareness on how bad it is for wheelchair users to get around shops. I pushed my dad around in his 'pram', as we called it, for over 20 years and never saw any improvements for wheelchair users.

Finally some positive feedback. Twitter was going crazy saying this was going to be another incident they were blasted for. That is a good idea. About 15 yrs ago I had to wheel my mother around in a regular wheel chair and his was not fun. The ADA here states everything is supposed to be wheel chair accesible. They are doing better. I'm interested to see the three different kinds.

Thanks for those, dahlia!! ;D
Aawww... James looks so cold and miserable. But he did stop to have a little chat with the guy in his wheelchair. Wonder if that was a spur of the moment idea. ;D
Richard's scooter was a bit loud and quite ungainly to go into a shop, I think.
Jeremy looked like a crazy old man, just wandering about talking to himself. ;D ;D ;D

There are some still photos knocking around, and I think that James actually looks quite ill. He has another nasty coldsore and looks very flushed. I almost don't like posting this one. I suppose it could be an extremely extended birthday hangover, but he looks like a man who would much rather have spent the day under his duvet with a constant supply of nourishing hot drinks.

Aww, James. I hope he was able to have a break over Christmas because things don't seem to be slowing down for the year ahead! Nice photo of Richard, though.

He did tweet that he did a lot of drinking on his birthday, maybe he celebrated a lot during his time off. He does not look like he feels well. That's a better picture of Jezza.

I just want to lay his poor head in my lap and stroke his forehead. Make him rest in bed until he's better. Bring him chicken soup and warm socks.

Indeed - love the pocket comment Liverbird. Sporfle.
Bless him. He does look a bit, well, knackered. I don't think the wet hair helped (and I am a lover of the longer haired James).
He needs a holiday, and some healthy living for a bit.
I suspect this will upset some people - because many will be looking to do a bit of TG bashing. Having said that, in my job I have helped several people who have suffered at the hands of mobility companies. When we negotiated on their behalf, all the men, particularly, wanted mobility scooters that had a bit of speed. The first thing the men looked at was the fastest the scooter would go!

Poor James He can come on holiday with me - 6 days and counting If he is poorly, I hope he feels better soon. My ex B-in-Law used to get sores through being tired and run down, so he took early retirement and now lives in Austria and he's cured ;D There's a thought for you James ;D
