That was so short, it would hardly have been worth his while dragging himself out of bed for, insomnia or no - I suffer from the same type, and you can guarantee you'll drift off into a perfect slumber about 30 minutes before you have to get up.
Anyway - I have a theory (and I'm usually wrong about these things) that he actually did a longer interview, including some chat about ManLab, which will appear on the show at a later date. It sounds like he might be in India about the time he'd normally be on the publicity circuit for the new show and book.
That's me theory!

I'd hoped the interview would have been longer, as when he's done live ones on that programme in the past he's been there much longer. I did wonder whether it might be heavily edited when it became clear it had been pre-recorded. Still, some James is better than no James, and he always has something interesting and amusing to contribute, no matter how brief!

He seemed almost emotional when discussing their eventual demise. He phrased it carefully complete with quite tone and pauses all whilst looking at his nails. Interesting. What's up with that?

I think it was more "oh great, another question about how the series ends soon, how shall I do this one?" and just thinking up something semi-dark-humorous. Probably just a nervous tic while trying to think up something on the spot. I've got a similar one myself during job interviews when I get surprised by a question, but it tends to involve looking at the ceiling while trying to think at warp-speed. Or for all we know maybe he was thinking "I really need to trim my nails and clean the motorcycle oil out." Or possibly "My fingers are pretty, aren't they." I'm aiming for option one. I don't think James gives a rat's behind how his fingernails look.

Jeremy on the other hand(so to speak)...

Ha, ha. yes. I probably should take a rest. Definitely. His nails always look so well taken care of. Although I can't picture James sitting still and having a manicure. They do look very nice. Maybe he's just really good at chewing them or maybe he likes the pretty ladies at the manicurist's holding his hand.

Someone mentioned yesterday on Twitter via facebook that Absolute Radio was claiming James was going to be on today. Wonder if they presented more of the interview?

If he was on again today, it looks as if we've all missed it!
The same video has been posted on Christian O'Connell's page on the Absolute website this lunchtime. There's a space for comments and I was going to ask if they are going to post a video of the rest, or the audio of those bits that seem to be missing, but as I'm registered with Absolute my full name would come up. Ordinarily I wouldn't care, but as I had that e-mail exchange with the programme's producer the day before the broadcast (using an e-mail address again with my full name) I don't want to come across as a crazed stalker, or something! Anyone want to tackle that one?

This page comes up as the podcast, but I'm only getting a 13-second general podcast trailer. I've e-mailed their technical department to find out what's going on. (Unless I'm doing something wrong, in which case will someone please advise me?) www.absoluteradio.co.uk/podcasts/James-May-Podcast/
