Former Top Gear presenters spotted racing cars for new show at airfield
Jeremy Clarkson and Richard Hammond were seen tearing up the tarmac at the airport near Yateley6 MAY 2016 BY NATASHA SALMON Former Top Gear presenters Jeremy Clarkson and Richard Hammond were spotted by fans on Thursday (May 5) filming at an airfield. The presenters were said to be shooting scenes for their new motoring programme for Amazon Prime which is believed to debut in the autumn. The ex-BBC presenters filmed for several hours as Blackbushe Airport in Yateley was closed and after filming Richard Hammond posed for selfies with spectators. Former Top Gear presenters Richard Hammond and Jeremy Clarkson spotted filming at Blackbushe airportPhotographer Steve Lynes said: "The airfield was closed from 3pm until 8pm and the film crew turned up just before 4pm. "They were filming from about 5pm until 6pm. I'd been there waiting since 2pm to see what was going to happen." Aviation photographer Jo Ayres also took shots of the filming and with her long lens captured a rather grumpy Jeremy Clarkson who messaged her on social media. Sara Egan from Yateley went to the airfield with her five-year-old daughter, Isobel, after hearing about the filming and got a selfie with Richard Hammond. She said: "He [Richard Hammond] asked her name and said he had a daughter called Isobel and couldn't wait to see her. "I think he'd been away filming for two weeks and looked tired. "We had been out delivering things for my equine business and thought we would take a look!" Sara Egan and her daughter Isabel got a selfie with Richard HammondNeil Thomas also took pictures of the TV stars and said: "At 4.30 they turned up to film and left at 6.15pm. "They spent time filming on the runway in a new Mustang and Ford Focus." This isn't the first local spot of the presenters and their new, yet-to-be-named, motoring show. In March they were filmed driving through Cobham in a souped-up vintage Mercedes and chatting to fans. www.getsurrey.co.uk/news/surrey-news/former-top-gear-presenters-spotted-11293450

I've just seen in the paper what I think is the best suggestion I've seen so far for a name for the new Amazon show:

Press Release
Clarkson, Hammond & May Announce The Name Of Their Amazon Prime Show
After months of deliberation and lots of useful suggestions from the public, for which the guys are very grateful, Amazon has today announced that Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond & James May have chosen a name
Because they are taking their new Amazon Prime show around the world, they have decided it will be called: The Grand Tour
SEATTLE / LONDON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 11, 2016 09:00 AM Eastern Daylight Time-- (NASDAQ:AMZN)—“Thing is,” said Jeremy Clarkson, “We’ll be travelling the world hosting each episode in a different country, from a giant tent. It’s a sort of ‘grand tour,’ if you like. So we’ve decided to call it ‘ The Grand Tour.’” James May admitted to being underwhelmed by the name. “I wanted to call it ‘Nigel,’ or ‘Roger.’ We needed a name, and they’re names.” Richard Hammond was more positive. “I already love camping,” he enthused, “But this is something else. We are like our pioneering and prospecting forebears, sallying forth into a new frontier of broadcasting, and making our home where...” But at this point Clarkson and May strangled him with a guy rope. The Amazon Prime show will feature short films shot in different locations around the globe and the studio audience portion of the showcase will also take place at a different location around the world every week. The pre-recorded studio sections of the program will be filmed in front of a live audience, all housed within a giant tent. Therefore in this spirit of travel, adventure and intrigue, the presenters have decided to call the show The Grand Tour. “Well, that took a while...” said Jay Marine, VP of Amazon Video Europe. “After nine months of deep thought, debate and deliberation, the guys have come up with a name that reflects the global ambition of the new show. The Grand Tour will be one of the most anticipated TV launches ever, and we’re excited to be bringing it to Amazon Prime customers around the world this autumn.” The Grand Tour will launch this fall for Amazon Prime members and the new travelling format means Amazon customers around the world will have the chance to be in the audience when tickets are released through a sweepstakes this summer. Details of the location schedule and information on how to apply for tickets will be announced shortly. Fans can follow The Grand Tour on Facebook ( www.facebook.com/thegrandtour) and Twitter ( www.twitter.com/thegrandtour) and at www.amazon.com/thegrandtour or www.amazon.co.uk/thegrandtour to get news about the show first. Amazon announced in 2015 that Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May would reunite to make a new car show available for Amazon Prime members. The show is produced by the trio’s long-time executive producer Andy Wilman. The award-winning team have committed to three series as part of this landmark global TV deal. The first series went into production in late 2015, and the series will premiere for Prime members this fall/autumn (2016). phx.corporate-ir.net/phoenix.zhtml?c=176060&p=irol-newsArticle&ID=2167447phx.corporate-ir.net/phoenix.zhtml?c=251199&p=irol-newsArticle&ID=2167479amazon-presse.de/Top-Navi/Pressetexte/Pressedetail.html?pid=a837cf13-f45b-4f0b-8c7b-63772c768ba6www.businesswire.com/news/home/20160511005835/en/

An article from a Namibian newspaper in Afrikaans. The article talks about Top Gear, the fracas, The Grand Tour and where they are going to be filming in Namibia "They were seen in Namibia at the Walvis Bay airport last week, Friday, 13 May, and even stood with a boy for a photo. There will be a breakthrough in unprecedented global publicity for the Namibian film industry following the filming of the program. While apparently all week with Namibian institutions groundwork done, the details of Clarkson and Hammond's coming to Namibia were leaked in drips over the weekend. After Clarkson's identification at the Redhead Airport there were indications that the group is on the road to Sossusvlei (a salt and clay pan surrounded by high red dunes, located in the southern part of the Namib Desert). After Sossusvlei they will probably be in the Erindi Private Game Reserve tomorrow (Tuesday, 17 May) with a visit to the end of the week. From there, an alleged itinerary to Twyfelfontein (site of ancient rock engravings in the Kunene Region of north-western Namibia) and then to Purros in Kaokoland (a remote region, on the dry Hoarusib River in the North West of Namibia). Yesterday morning (Sunday, 15 May) there was activity in Long Beach between Swakopmund (a city on the coast of western Namibia) and Walvis Bay, but those involved, including hanger ons, did not want to talk. Later come to realize that it is a practice for The Grand Tour's to visit later this week Erindi." In elke land sal ’n groot tent as ’n ateljee dien.

From Jeremy's Sun column on 13 May 2016
RIGHT until the last minute, we were going to call our new Amazon motoring show “Nigel”.But then we thought, “Hang on. What if someone thinks we’ve named it after Nigel Mansell. Or worse, Nigel Farage.” So we had a meeting and decided that since the show will be hosted from a giant tent that will be in a different location each week, we should call it what it is: The Grand Tour. And now we’ve got to decide where that tour is going, where the tent should be pitched each week. For at least three of the 12 shows we will be in Britain so, dear Sun readers... any thoughts? www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/suncolumnists/jeremyclarkson/7149444/Jeremy-Clarkson-Ban-on-petrol-cars-Mad-Dutch-are-in-Never-Netherlands.html

Some Polish journalists spotted TGT at the O. R. Tambo International Airport Johannesburg, South Africa on 25 May 2016 as they were leaving to fly home Clarkson, Hammond i May w Afryce

fot.
Panowie przylecieli do Afryki z całą ekipą nagrywać jeden z pierwszych odcinków swojego nowego programu pod tytułem "The Grand Tour". Szybko i bez zbędnych formalności. My niestety musieliśmy czekać w długiej kolejce po pieczątkę miejscowego urzędnika.
Juliusz Szalek, moto.wp.pl
