I just thought it was all very well put together. Some bits were so telegraphed I could have seen them coming even if I was facing the opposite direction, but I really didn't care; I haven't laughed so hard in ages - given the day I'd had, this was little short of a miracle! And even A-E, who very definitely does not get the TG love, and would like to challenge the boys to spend a month in a hippy commune, said it was his highlight of the evening

That really is a well practiced hand drawing round those spanners, isn't it! Edit: Why can't I type today? Eclaire, slow down, I can't keep up with you!

I wonder how long Richard had to stand in the concrete before his wellies were set in it & it was firm enough for Jezza to rescue him!

Aww, bless James and his spanners Jezza looks like he's doing an impression of The Lovely Debbie McGee the way he's standing by that "water feature".

Bless him, he was so proud of that water feature! Such a good show! Couldn't stop laughing all the way through! Lovely pics, Eclair!

It is a truly hideous example of garden ornamentation! Well done, Jezza ;D

They had me laughing out loud too, despite the obvious acting. Even James almost couldn't keep a straight face at times, and he's by far the best at that. Never mind, it was brilliantly choreographed, especially the fountain and the greenhouse, and all excellently entertaining stuff in a good cause, so well done all three of them - and the Redgraves too of course. The drawing round the spanners idea was all too believable - it didn't look like the first time he'd done that, somehow.... Put it this way, none of us would be surprised, would we?!! ;D Me too ^ Did anyone else notice the titles? They had me creased up before the prog even got started! Its so much like I'd have done if I had to combine the two, except I'd have merged the theme tunes as well! Here's my attempt on YouTube but the tunes clashed real bad! uk.youtube.com/watch?v=pBtg_rNw5fg

Just re-watched it, noticed lots of stuff I missed first time round - like at the end, where they were painting the concrete green to look like grass! Love it! The only thing that was missing was the Stig... or maybe the Stig's gardener cousin...

With regard to the spanners, I'm going to leap to James's defence now, although I'm sure he's more than capable of defending himself! ;D I've seen this method of storing tools before, in a military setting. I was at an airshow at RAF Leuchars a number of years ago, and in one of the hangars was a freestanding board, on which was hung a variety of implements used for aircraft maintenance. This board was covered in fluorescent silhouettes of the tools in question, with each tool hung up against its own silhouette. This made it completely clear which tools should be stored where, and which were in use at any given time. Hey, if it's good enough for the RAF, then it's good enough for James! Maybe that's where he got the idea...! ;D

My dad used to do it too ;D I can understand entirely why people do it, it's just that I am completely chaotic when it comes to being organised. I'd probably do it with the best of intentions and then have everything hanging up against the wrong outlines. Or not hang anything up at all... When it comes to tools, I am probably James's worst nightmare!

Apparently they had 65 complaints about the programme. From keen gardeners I expect, with little in the way of a life.

That's good Lew. So many people lack a sense of humour in this world. Just watched it again. I am nearly 100% sure Sir Steve knew. You can see it in his eyes.

Yeah, I lived in hope there for a minute!!! ;D The sweary moment was very well done.
i liked how Jezza & James each had their newspapers prominently on the dashboard of the truck. Talk about product placement on the BBC!!! Excellent.
I bet most of the complaints involved the word "gun".....
What sad cretins there are out there. Comedy is such a foreign concept to them....
