I got mine too so i am going to go away and cuddle up on the sofa and watch the American one. Didn't get WA2 - thought I shouldn't spend too much and I might be able to persuade someone to get it for me for my bday.

*whispers next week * But they've shortened the American Adventure. Luckily not the bit they take out in Dave or I'd be parcelling it up and sending it to Andy Wilman personally. But it's the bit where Jezza is saying, "when you come to america this is what you'll find. They're all this, they're all that, and they're all rude. What it's not a travel programme I'm telling the truth". Plus the bit where they buy their gifts (hammonds grill, jezza's shower etc). There's this terrible editing where suddenly jezza is driving along with the shower on and Hammond has suddenly got his big griller on the back of the truck!. I don't know why they do these things.

Ly, that sounds like how they edited it for TV here, they cut the life out of it!! Can understand maybe Jezzas rant "everybodys very fat, everybodys very stupid and everybodys very rude" but the shower bit?? Weird!!

Very odd the shower bit. Like you say, I get the rant about americans - I guess some might take offence. ;D

I noticed the weird edits too - but I had a funny feeling when I looked at the running time; 52 minutes is short for a BBC hour. I noticed the Due to contractual reasons certain music edits have been made disclaimer but I knew that wouldn't count for all of it Still, I'm now here with a mug of cocoa watching the Polar Special with a big grin on my face.

Just finished watching the DVDs. Was a little disappointed with the lack of extras on WA but the unseen bits on PA were cool (pardon the pun). I felt sorry for James when they found those buildings. He was going around pointing and poking at stuff like an excited school kid and Jezza was just taking the p*** .

Just watched the PA. Still brilliant. I agree re the buildings they found. Fascinating. Reminded me of the film The Thing. Where had everyone gone?

I went to buy my polar/american adventure today from woolworths and I couldn't find it! I had to ask someone if they had any left and they looked in all the drawers because I was so desperate for it and they found a stray one in the wrong drawer *wipes forehead* I'm off to watch it in a mo

Mine finally arrived today. I loved the extended edition of the Polar adventure. Really weird to see that both Richard and James & Jeremy found a desolate building. If I had been Richard I would have told everyone to b*gger off and gotten some proper kip. ;D

I've still not seen the American one, saw the Polar one...I need to order it off Amazon! Wow, that's quite a BUMP after three years. Be aware that the DVD with the American adventure is the edited edition. I was really pissed off by that when I found out. You'd be better off looking for a torrent to be honest. The polar dvd is brilliant though with about 20 minutes of extra footage thrown in.
