Hello, all. I'll have to admit it straight away. James May and this Board are my Guilty Pleasures. I have only just joined, but am almost a founder member as I discovered you first just before the Digital Whatsit Board closed you down. I have followed you through all your incarnations since then but never quite dared to make the final step - I'm definitely too old for all this! However, in the end I couldn't resist the thought of all that I was missing, so bit the bullet, so to speak. I love all the pictures and am in awe of what some of you can make your computers do! welcome

Thank you for the welcome.
Did he say this morning that he only felt 28? He must have had a bad week. I thought he'd said he felt about 12 in an interview a while ago, or it might have been that that's how old W said he was and he agreed that he felt quite happy being 12 and saw no reason to get any older. You can sort of hear that conversation, can't you ...
I might still have something going for me in the age department - the WiiFit said my body age was only 28 last week, but a few days later it put me at 57, which was a bit depressing. I put it down to technological spite on it's part. Could have been worse, though - it goes from 2y - 99y.

All this feels very slightly odd. I have followed the Forum all this time so feel I know you all and now I am talking to you. Why did I hang back for so long?
Being a Forum Virgin as it were, I have a question. Having just checked out and slightly modified my profile, what does 'receive mass e-mails from the forum' mean? I've ticked 'No' as the JMB is not only a Guilty Pleasure, but a private one, too. Hmm.

Thanks to Starfish inviting me, I thought I'd finally sign up instead of lurking. Hello. :-) I'll probably pop in and add my 2p worth here and there. I've seen alot of you post in Telegraph. I've talked to Inky before there as well there. Thank you for the travel tip. :-) I'm planning on making that one of our stops next summer. See you soon, here and in Telegraph. BTW, I also have a YouTube account dedicated to James and Top Gear, with a few odds and ends. uk.youtube.com/puffy1969 if you're interested in looking around and watching the videos. If you'd like to drop me a line there, please give me a friend invite. Thank you.

Thanks for the warm welcome. :-) Although, I did look through the Telegraph section here and felt some hate. None of you here that have welcomed me, thankfully. I just wanted to see how the rest of you are doing, since I enjoy reading your comments on DT as well. Although I do have to appologise for getting carried away there at times, I just really have always liked James alot and probably always will.

Hi Maureen,
Welcome to the madhouse at last! I posted on the Telegraph (as well as lurking here) for ages before finally joining. The welcome is always warm. Sure you'll enjoy being amongst us! It's the best way to deal with the 'like James a lot' feeling!
Hope it was the interaction with Star that made you finally take the plunge. She really is a super, kind person.
We all get carried away and I know it's the only way to have any kind of conversation with James, albeit one way, so no need to apologise for getting carried away. We all know that essentially in our hearts we all post for his eyes only, and everyone else reading it is just a necessary by-product.
Hope you enjoy your time on here amongst like minded people.
