This is very true Apparently you really can flick the ash out at that speed - the chap I was talking to claimed to have done it when he was test-driving one of the prototype Fighters. He said he wanted the windows to be designed in such a way that they were easy to open and close at high speed because some conventional designs are quite difficult to do that with. I suppose flicking his fag ash out was a way of checking that there wasn't a problem with air turbulence blasting back into the cabin (well, in the case of the Fighter, it's definitely more of a cockpit, really).

I'd really like to see that put to the test, under controlled and safe circumstances. (in case of health and safety aka spoil sports ) It's something Top Gear and James could do, if the Bristol man let him and promised Jeremy would never ever go near it. ;D
