I suspect that the BFS is delicately hanging in James' wardrobe, slowly refreshing itself ready for its next outing, which will probably be next Spring .

So it hibernates for the winter.... makes sense as its getting a bit 'thin' in places ;D

I imagine that even if it was completely threadbare to the point of being unwearable by now, it would still be hanging neatly at the back of the wardrobe, hoping to be taken out into the daylight at some point in the future!

I vaguely remember reading some where James mentioning that the BFS had some holes and was well worn in places but as it was his 1st "TV shirt purchase" it would always live on until it died a natural death.... so I go with the hibernating for the winter theory.

And what about that column (can't remember the title) in which James says that he takes the BFS everywhere he goes, like a talisman. He even took it to the north pole, though he had no intention of wearing it. I also remember that he calculated that it would last another 12 (?) years.  Come to think of it, it must be the opening column of "car fever". And, we can't lose the BFS, because, as JM himself says, he IS the BFS or rather, the other way around... |
