Hello Pie. You have been busy. Golly!
I personally despise New Year, so that has cheered me up, thanks. Urgh, off to make pleasantries and pretend to be having a fantastic time.... joy to all.
I could definitely be a contender for Grumpy New Year....
Anyway, Happy New Year all. Hope your night goes off with a bang (and I'm not being rude there)

If you're with friends or at a party or anything like that, it's what's done. You pretend to have a good time and really, nobody is. It's tradition? It's expected? I'm not overly fond of New Year's myself. My cat died New Year's Eve 2006 and I wasn't fond of the holiday before then. I guess I already celebrate my birthday, why bother with another holiday that marks the passage of time? I did just go out and buy two bottles of wine, because if my loud drunk neighbors are going to keep me awake anyways, might as well have something decent to drink. Excellent photo montage there pie.

I bought a bottle of Yellow Tail Merlot for my friends at Christmas and they said it was good. Her husband said it's pronounced mer-lot like the Texans! Have you tried it?

I've never really cared for new year that much, either. I enjoy watching the fireworks and stuffing my face (naturally ) but that's about it. As a student we used to go to a bar and such, but no more. And when I was a kid we used to do "magic" on New Year's Eve which I also liked. Thankfully it's only legal to use fireworks between 6 p.m. and 2 a.m. on New Year's Eve. This is the only night when my son gets to go out at midnight and he's pretty excited about that. We have never bought fireworks ourselves, since there are lots of people around here that do, so we just go out and enjoy the view. Happy New Year to all!!!

I've never been much for celebrating on New Year's Eve either. Right now I'm listening to MOH snoring in the bath tub. When will the wondrous festivities end?? Happy New Year to one and all! ;D

Thankfully it's only legal to use fireworks between 6 p.m. and 2 a.m. on New Year's Eve. You know, I did not know that... well well? I found it rather odd last night at how many of those Chinese Lanterns were lit in the air. A bit unsafe regarding I was in Sunderland last night, which is right on the East Coast. Dozens of lanterns floating over the North Sea looking like flares... There was probably some poor chap on a boat sending up distress flares and being completely ignored.
