Awww, that is one of my favourite youtubes. I like the way his hair is all sort of bad & wrong and the fact that he is wearing that dreadful, crazy woolly jacket. I love that. Didn't make me buy the book though. Sorry James.

I DID buy the book, but before I saw this. And good fun it is too. It's more than "mildly amusing" - the typically modest fellow! The promise of "no Jeremy Clarkson" is a nice touch. The similar ad for "Notes from the Hard Shoulder" is well worth a look too, if only to gasp in awe at what he's wearing. It's a brave choice, put it so. i like that top he is wearing, its very bright an cheerful! and i do have his book too! lol i dont buy too many books, in fact the last two books i bought were notes from the hard shoulder and james may's 20th century. ;D

Love the crazy fur-collar jacket of uncertain hue: I haven't seen anything like it since 1977 I know he's been on Top Gear for about 5 years now, but I get the sense from some clips that it's only in the past maybe 2 years or so (maybe less) that James has become quite famous in the UK. Is that impression correct?
