Another site where you have to log-in to post a comment. I'm only tempted because the only comment so far is someone saying they won't be missed cause Jezza is the lynchpin. He is of course, but they would so be missed. Hope it blows over. Or maybe CVG's fic will come to life! Actually can imagine that the DT will set up one of these systems too. Perhaps not a bad idea!

I really do find the layout of this board over-complex and confsuing sometimes... too many sub-boards... Anyway, as I said before: And well done them! It's about time the Beeb stopped treating Clarkson as the Big Star and realised that James (especially) and Richard are worth far, far more than just 'co-presenter' status. Fight to get what you deserve, boys - equal pay!!

While the pair claim that they deserve pay commensurate with their star status, it is understood the BBC has argued that Top Gear is the pair's "power base" for popularity
Ok, granted James and Richard have increased their popularity thanks to Top Gear, but it's a two way street! Their popularity increases Top Gear's ratings! I say, pay the lads what they deserve! It's the chemistry of all three of them that makes TG a success! James and Richard deserve equal pay to Jeremy!

Well said, CVG. It is definitely a two-way street. Look at the amount of people who would have loved James in 20thCentury and as for WA, well that speaks for itself. Even if they can't get parity they should at least be offered something commensurate with Jeremy's. There shouldn't be a huge chasm between their respective remunerations.

It's going to be a stand-off over who needs who the most!... I have my own opinion on that, but then I am biased!!

I posted this at HH but I'm being lazy and copying it over. And any way James has more prospects with Oz and science stuff if TG dries up (unlikely as he's signed to MPH/Top Gear Live and TG is guaranteed for filming another few series, I think)
'Mr May laughed off suggestions that he had not signed his new contract because he was angry about Mr Clarkson's new salary.
"The only reason I haven't signed my contract yet is because it has not yet been finalised," he told The Daily Telegraph. "The current one doesn't expire until the end of July. I'm sure a new one will be sorted out soon."
He added: "I'm not stomping around about Jeremy's contract with BBC Worldwide. Quite frankly, I couldn't give a **** about it." ' God I adore this man (James) A quote from the telegraph site www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2247815/Top-Gear's-James-May-and-Richard-Hammond-%22may-leave%22-BBC-motoring-show.html and I'll come up with a response later on when I've had a think. But yes near equal pay would be fairer, maybe reducing Jonathan Woss has his pay reduced. Unless we hear from the BBC no need to get too worried and it's their own business and affairs until it is released into the public domain, for all to pull to pieces. Anyway, what is a new series of TG without the papers and 'sources' wanting to cause a sensation and an upset. *Goes off to drive to the magnetic North Pole whilst drinking a G and T *

Well they're very good actors if there's a problem. Watching Episode 2 again and they look happy as larry.

Well they're very good actors if there's a problem. Watching Episode 2 again and they look happy as larry. Yeah, but you should see 'em when the cameras are off... Jeremy pulling James' hair, Richard biting Jeremy's ankles etc...

I think Jeremy does deserve more as he owns the rights and it's his and Andy's baby etc but Richard and James enhance TG and have made it what it is, so they at least should get a slice of the action and have an increased salary, or equal pay. The agents would have never settled for the first offer anyway. It's not the done thing.
But I still think it's not right to talk about their pay , even though I have done so, I won't any more.

Man mud wrestling....that's how the beeb solve it ;D and I'm the ref .....though looking at the comments on the Daily Wail (some of them) say that TG would be fine without them, so a get lost to James and Rich oh, gulp

I agree with MG, still there's TG live and Blackpool and the rest, but the time will come when I suppose they all themselves will have had enough, please let that be a long way off

They probably wont leave Top Gear. The papers are just creating news I think. I like to think that If James ever was to leave TG He would do quite well with other TV work now. Also I would loose interest if james was to leave I think. But he isn't going anywhere.
