I agree Star. I already feel that I don't want to hear any more about it, so I'm not going to read anything or comment on it after this. Its, as someone said earlier on the thread, just the papers raking stuff up when they get a whiff of something. They have to keep up the mystery about anything successful. If there aren't rumours about pay, there are stories about one of them leaving. Heard it before and will go back to my watch and read James's work policy, and mind my own business about the rest! Humph!

Don't worry, Ly, James has two new series of his own brilliant projects coming up. He'll weather it and they'll see that he's worth every penny and more! Not like he's a one trick pony - brilliant screen presence, brilliant writer, brilliant scope of knowledge on diverse topics, brilliantly articulate on these topics and anything else in a non-condescending way, brilliant pedagogic skills, brilliant empathy with all - whether young or old/male or female, brilliantly creative, brilliant musician, a brilliant voice for radio/voice overs/narration. James is nothing short of, um what's the word - BRILLIANT! ;D * whispers - I didn't say this - I'm not commenting any more on this subject, now am I?! - skulks off to watch the second set* |

Yep. We have it every series I think. There was a rumour over a year ago which was exactly the same but it didn't get blown up quite like this year.  I think it's because one day the press know they will get it right and Top Gear will end. But I like to think when that day comes it will be all three of them driving off into the sunset together.  |

Dammit, can't get on to Top Gear to read Andy's blog.
The press will always try to make something out of nothing. There are newspapers to sell, after all...
James's agent is just doing her job, negotiating the best deal for James that she can, particularly as he is at the top of his game. It's only natural that they should go for it while he's doing well. It's a precarious enough career. It's ridiculous of the press to imply there's ill-feeling.
He seems really confident in himself at the moment, don't you all think...?
