Me too! Poor James. I was almost in despair myself when he said that. In no way has he wasted his life. Surely the existence of this board goes some way towards proving that! ;D

Beckstar you're famous ;D My mum quite fancies James Blunt so she enjoyed the interview. It was ok, actually. Loved the old cars at the beginning (went to Beaulieau 27 yrs ago & would love to go back. That bit was the most interesting part of the programme for me; i'm more interested in learning history of cars and how they work than i am in how fast they go etc.

I've just seen News Uncut! Brilliant Beckstar! Wow! ;D (However my PC crashed again...so if I disappear again or am sitting online for hours saying nothing, you know its gone again ) I'd like to talk a little about the News Uncut part 3.... James talks about his black dog, moments he has had when driving in his car he gets "moments of absolute black dog despair" and the feeling he has wasted his whole life.... Sadly depression is very common, and although I understand that the format of Top Gear would not suit more of a discussion about it, I am disappointed in Jezza and Hamster dismissing James' comments. I would find it incredibly difficult to believe that Hamster, with a brain injury, would not have moments of the black dog at the very least. Anyway I'm very pleased James told BHB to "shut your f*cking face"!!!! Good on ya James Though, I'm not entirely sure I understand all the comments about Bar 6 on here....(gay bars, kinsey scale) what do you really think Jezza meant or was implying?

Yes, I think some of us can relate to the black dog moments. It's easy to dismiss it if you've no idea what it's like, although how much of it is joking about and how much of it is truth is difficult to tell sometimes with TG.

I'm a bit confused. Was this all on the news uncut? I Tried to watch it, but I can't make either WMP or Realplayer work on the Mac, which is what I am now using to surf the interwebby. Annoying... I will have to investigate further.

Yes, it was on the News Uncut, part 3. They were talking about the steering wheel that changes colour according to the driver's mood, and wondering what moods it might respond to. Then James, to the surprise of the other two, asked what colour it would turn if you were driving along and suddenly suffered a moment of what he referred to as 'black dog despair', about how your (ie. his) life had been wasted. I just felt so sad for him when he said that!

Sorry I wasn't around on Sunday after the show, I was out having a life. I've watched it now & really enjoyed the bit with the old cars. Maybe we should organise a Board outing to Beaulieu next spring/summer sometime?

A life? Gosh - I read about that in a magazine once. I haven't been to Beaulieu for years. At the time I don't think I appreciated it - my fathers love for cars was a bit boring to a small child who wanted a horse. It's funny how things change.

No I don't think many of us would have those, being on here. Perhaps some members may have misinterpreted my post about missing members on Sunday night. Since the beginning of series 10 of TG, on here and previously on the JMS site, most members have congregated for post TG reports after 9pm on Sunday nights. We usually have a lot of members online. Its great fun! And very informative for the likes of myself and Puss and other international members and guests who do not see the episode immediately. Anyway, it appears that members tried to get online but could not, due to Proboard server problems.

It's not much of a life, mainly trailing around after ageing musicians. But I'm clinging onto it while they're still alive enough to go out & perform...

Beaulieu to Eastbourne is a bit of a trek cos the roads in the New Forest are (to use a Clarkson-ism) worse than useless! But it's definitely do-able.

As someone who has set off at midnight for Bournemouth (dog show thing : , arrived in the New Forest at 5am, kipped in the car, gone to show at 8am, done dog show thing, set off home (to Carnforth, North Lancs) at about 3pm and arrived back at base at about 9pm, Eastbourne to Beaulieu is a piece of p**s ;D I was thinking of making a few days of my trip down from oooop north ;D

I believe I fell asleep shortly after James Blunt was on. He seemed quite alright in that interview really, where as half (if not more) of the public seem to really dislike him. Well, I confess I was somewhat in that majority beforehand due to his whingey music (no offence to anyone here), but, yes, I do suppose he was OK. I literally can't remember anything about the episode at all - just seeing Blunty's name mentioned here stirred a tenuous memory. Meh. 'Tis nice to actually fall asleep once in a while - though pity my body can't seem to pick a better time to do it.

Er... hi.
I just wanted to say, in reference to the 'bar six' thing, if you listen carefully to what the boys are saying James says 'when you get those moments of despair... well it happens' and then Jeremy says 'what when you think of a bar six?' to which James then says 'shut your face about that'.
I think Jeremy is referring to the old chocolate bars of that name, I suspect it's more of a pun about James getting old (or maybe eating too much crap) than a gay reference, especially given James had just been talking about 'wasting his life'.
