I loooooooooooooove the GTC, one of my all time faves!
Unless I am having a bad day and getting muddled again.

UM, if you ever find yourself in London, I really recommend visiting that Bentley showroom if you feel like having your ego massaged. Even if you tell the staff you can't possibly afford one, they'll still treat you like you're at least a very close relative of the queen. And if you're really lucky, they'll have a Veyron on display that you'll actually be able to look at properly!

Sadly, Wy, travelling and me don't mix, so that, I know for certain, won't happen, but thanks for the tip. I am always keeping my eyes open when I am out and about for lovliness and, according to my cousin, there is a 'posh cars' showroom somewhere in the bowels of Belfast. Makes sense I suppose, the tw*ts have to get their Porsches from somewhere.
Have also seen 2 Lotus', convertible ones, and that one Bentley, it was truly beautiful and an Aston of some sort, was a bit of a shock seeing that, it looks fab in photos but I remember thinking, 'it is a bit low' but ok I guess.

WARNING: a little image heaviness ahead. I went to the Washington, DC auto show on Friday and took tons of pics. Here's some favorites/ones of interest: Dodge Challenger of course. GORGEOUS '58 Corvette 2003 Aston DB7...yours for only $80,000! Me in a Merc SLK 350 Roadster. I've wanted an SLK for as long as I can remember. It felt just right. Most of my pics are of Mercs since they're my favorite. Rolls-Royce Phantom. They had the coupe as well. Couldn't get in them or the Bentleys though. Audi R8 Photographic proof that there are TWO Porsche 2 seaters with brown interiors! Nissan GT-R Infiniti G Convertible...not on the market yet. Sorry, America doesn't want the Cube. You can have it back. The new Camaro. Looks good, but James and Jezza are probably right, it'll be crap. Lastly, the Cadillac CTS.

Brilliant photos, rwhip Love the Corvette! The only interesting thing I've spotted was a Mark 1 Ford Escort yesterday. Took me right back to my childhood, because the lady that lived opposite us used to have one! They date from the early-to-mid 70s, so it was quite a surprise to see one on someone's drive This is an example I found on t'Internet, but I've not seen one looking this good in a very long time!

I saw my first ever 'in the flesh' Aston Martin DB9 today, parked up outside a craft shop in Reading. My tongue just unrolled and laid itself out on the road. My mum thought I'd gone mad ;D

A little bit more on the Abarth 500...
Got a proper look inside today and it is indeed as lovely as I thought it was. And it really is qualified to wear those scorpions! Although the bare bones of the thing are from the Fiat 500, an awful lot is exclusive to the Abarth. Cosmetically, it comes in its own range of colours - black, white, red and grey (which looks surprisingly good), and the bucket seats I mentioned previously are exclusive too. However, it's mechanically where it gets interesting.
The suspension has been replaced, the turbo charged engine is new and the gearbox is different too. The changes bring the Abarth up to 135bhp. The whole lot is further uprated again in the Esseesse, which (as you may recall Jezza mentioning in his test) brings it up to 160bhp. And it really is the size of a shoe, so they've had to do some serious work on the handling, apparently.
But here's the really cool bit. If you're not sure you can handle 160bhp in a tiny car, you can have the 135bhp version and if you return it within 12 months, you can, for a price, have the Esseesse kit fitted.
The one downside to the Abarth is that the 135bhp version falls into insurance group 13. I didn't dare ask what the Esseesse kit would do to it.
In other small Italian car news, the Alfa Romeo MiTo is also going to be available in an uprated version. It will take the engine from the Grand Punto (as Fiat own Alfa), which will bump it up from 120bhp to at least 155bhp, and possibly more once the tuning and handling wizards have got their hands on it. I'm just slightly miffed because it turns out that the MiTo demonstrator was in Plymouth last week and I missed it...
It seems that Fiat has really 'got' the idea of quick, small, interesting cars. If they keep this up, they might just come out of the credit crunch in a better state than many of their competitors.
