You get some seriously fab cars gravitating towards you, MG! I am particularly envious of the Lambo sighting, but that won't surprise you at all Ooh, a Gallardo Spider... mmmmmm...

In the mid-seventies the pink (or yellow) Caddy was vehicle of choice for the coal mine owners wives here. I still equate Caddys with blue or peach haired rich ladies in "smart" clothing, lol.

Chevy needs to work on their sat-nav voice. My husband's sounds like if you don't obey her she's coming after you with a whip, lol. Must be why he likes it! My son has the portable type where you can choose the voice complete with accent and gender of choice. His sounds like a Bitish man and cracks me up everytime I hear it. Hi Adco, Yeah, I refer to her as Sat Nav Chick and my husband calls her Boss Lady. He argues with her like James does on the race through London challenge, and I tell her to shut up like Jeremy does when he's tired of being nagged. I'm not sure if you could change the voice in ours, but if I could, I'd change it to sound like Howard Stern or Jesse the Body Ventura. If it was a British accent, I'd make it sound like James, because I love his voice and accent. If it was Australian, I'd change it to sound like Hayden Turner from the Eco Challenge shows on National Geographic in the early 2000s.

I have a long history of arguing with inanimate objects! It would almost be worth it to go to Italy and get arrested to see that car. Around here lots of people (drug dealers and rednecks mainly) buy old police cruisers at auctions and take the lights and signs off of them then drive them around as regular cars. Tey have bigger than normal engines and a different suspension. The county next to us is very..."rural" shall we say. It's called Magoffin County so these cars are known as Magoffin County Cadillacs. They are very common and lots of time you think youare about to get pulled over when they blast past you.

Adco, That's frightening. If you're able to get internet access at your hotel, I hope you have a very safe and uneventful drive. I had a few scarey moments between Houston and Lafayette yesterday. These fellows in the new Ford and Chevy pick ups think they own the road, so watch out for them. They like to tailgate, lane hog, and speed dangerously fast. If you're able, please let us know that you made it safely to Georgia. Otherwise, I hope you have a great time there and bring back some wonderful memories.

I saw my first Lacetti today. Oh dear, it's really not attractive in the flesh. I also saw the dark blue GTV again... though this time I also saw the driver and he was very nearly as pretty as his car... And I saw something else interesting in the car park at work - a black Alfa Spider. Not like Richard's Dustin Hoffman car, and not the current one (which platform shares with the Brera), but one from about 10 years ago, which platform shares with the GTV. Quite sexy, though I prefer the GTV, but I couldn't help looking at it and thinking, "aww, Richard's Spider and James's GTV had a baby" ;D Yes, I am daft. There will be photos when I get onto the lappy later

A few days ago, I saw an all time favourite in Lafayette - a 1974 Plymouth Grand Fury, and in decent shape. It was brown, but still gorgeous. Yesterday in Tennessee, I hit the jackpot as far as beautiful 1960s and 70s cars go. I thought I had died and gone to heaven. There were two 1970's Dodge charges (one green, one yellow), a beautiful blue Chevy Nova, and a burgandy Chevy SS all following each other in the other direction. People in Tennessee and Kentucky really keep those lovelies in great working condition. I'm in love. <3

I almost forgot. All Bentleys are wonderful to spot. Think James. I also spotted an old Bugetti yesterday on the drive too.

They meet there, eat and then drive out by the lake together. They park there and talk about cars all night. My son has done it a few times. I'll have to bum some pictures off of him.

I wish they did stuff like that where I live. We have a Classic Car show once a year. I wonder if there's some secret meeting of owners of old Ford Fiestas.

Today while taking the ghost tour thing I saw a Roush Mustang which was awesome. Also saw a Porsche Cayman and a Cadillac SRX. The best looking car I saw all day was a Jaguar XJS, green with beige top. Perfect condition and just beautiful. I may need one. Stupid ghosts got hold of my camera and it died half way through the tour so no pictures.

Nice treat on the way home from work I saw something low and red prowling up the road towards me and I thought, that's a familiar shape... As it rolled past, I realised it was a Lotus Esprit Turbo. I haven't seen one in years, and I've always had a soft spot for them. Well, I must have been staring, because the driver looked up and grinned at me, then, for effect, piled on the tyre squeal as he went past and around the corner ;D
