...they look a wee bit daft parked outside Tescos. Somewhere I have a photo of an R8 in Sainsburys car park. Not an ideal shopping car! Having said that, the V10 R8 I saw yesterday was parked outside a bulk wine shop near Battersea Bridge, being loaded up with cases of wine before it roared off. Poor choice of car really, you'd get far more in a Mondeo estate...

You can get a fair amount in the back of a Merc C class as well. When the George Gale Brewery announced it was being bought out some years back, I went down there with a friend in his Merc and we came out with 10 cases of mainly Mead, but some fruit wines as well. Once we'd loaded it into the boot, there was so much space left, we went back in and bought another 3 cases! There was still room for more, but we'd run out of money by then

I'd forgotten I'd taken these on my phone when I was in Paris. I'm seriously crap at identifying cars...all I know is that they're an Austin Healey and an Aston, and that I like them a lot. ;D

fabulous cars, Pie! Paris is so stylish! I forgot to post these - last weekend the people next door managed to beach a visiting car over a rock on their parking bay and this pick-up truck came to tow it out. It was so old that it didn't have any additional letters on its number plate, which means it's pre-1963. Although scruffy, it was a lovely thing. (Edit: Sorry, hadn't realised quite how big these were! I was too busy being impressed with the pick-up, and how good that huge plant looks in my front garden!)

If you can help me I saw an Aston Martin making a lot of noise in the fast lane on the M40 a little over a week ago. My cousin was driving so I couldn't see the name but for an A on the back right of the car. I liked the sound.

Here's a blue Porsche Panatera. I hardly ever see any cool cars that I can take a picture of. Sorry about the quality. I guess my cheap phone has a dirty lens. It was very pretty. Attachments:

Not technically a sighting as such, but I was delighted to see a Purdey on the cover of the November 'Classics Monthly'! If you're the sort of person who leafs through mags in supermarkets (I normally hate that, but I can make an exception!) the excellent article is on pages 8 - 13.

Saw this one this evening, just up the road from where TOH lives, on the way to/from the cinema to see the new Johnny English film! I think I used to have the Matchbox version in metallic purple! I've probably still got it somewhere...

It was a Lotus Esprit that made me realise I really loved cars. I wasn't very old, I was on holiday in Paignton and it was black Esprit. I was waiting for the green man to appear on the crossing on the corner of Hyde Road and Torbay Road, opposite the railway station and next to the pub that was next door to Woolworths when it went past, and the fact that I remember it all so clearly just shows how big an impression it made!!
Much prettier than the abomination I saw this afternoon, when I got an unwelcome reminder of my current proximity to Chigwell; a Rolls-Royce Phantom in the most vivid shade of scarlet imaginable, and driven by a chauffer who looked worryingly like Mel Smith in 'The Princess Bride'. It was truly, truly hideous.

My Lotus-loving husband had two Esprits in his time (and several other Loti at various points) and, although I rarely actually drove them I loved being a passenger; there was something about the whole experience that was both relaxing and exciting at the same time.

I like the Lotus Esprit. I'm not sure why, but I do. My OH and I saw a bright yellow Ferrari 458 on the A1 last weekend, while we were on the way home from visiting my parents in Scotland. Rather nice! ;D

This isn't really a car sighting, more of a car I'd like to sight. This small ad appeared in the local free paper that plops through our letter box once a week. 'Bugatti Veyron - 16.4 low miles, white/pale blue, petrol, 2008. UK car, part of private collection, cost new over £1.1 million, no time wasters £825,ooo. Tel. 07802 376970.' It seems quite an odd place to post an advert for such a prestigious car, anyway, if any of you have the inclination plus a spare £825,000 you have the telephone number.

When I was cabbing it across London on Tuesday a car pulled out sharply from a junction right across the path of the cab and missed it by inches - it was a red Ferrari. I can't believe that someone would own a beautiful car like that and drive so stupidly as to risk damaging it. The cab driver said that a lot of drivers with cars of that quality drive like pr1cks in London, which is somewhat disappointing.

Today, going shopping for groceries where I always do it, something in the car park caught my eye. I could see it was a new silver colored Bentley, and having checked the internet I think it was this one: consumer.bentley.uat.keycast.com/models/new_continental_gt/ That's not someting you see everyday where I live. Lets see, what else have I seen recently? ;D ;D Oh yes, I accompanied my OH when he was practising his hobby. Turns out, in the same building some guys are storing and working on their cars. First thing I saw was an old 30's flatbed truck, then a Ford Anglia, a Citroen 2CV, two old Mercedes cabriolets, a Pontiac (?), an old Beetle, an old Bentley (R Type?), something similar (old and posh with a hood ornament) that I did not recognize, 2 more old flat bed trucks, 2-3 classic 50's american cars ... And that's only the ones I can remember. I was walking around with my chin dragging the floor, trying to see as much as possible in the light of a mobile phone. ;D

www.youtube.com/watch?v=iluIZqOFYCASaw one of these going along Crown Valley in Mission Viejo yesterday. It's license plate said RIX REX. The weather was a bit cool to be driving around in this. Sorry no photo but I had to keep both hands on the wheel. A lot of fast moving traffic.

Unfortunately, they're on the left coast. Was the one you saw a lime green one? The consensus seemed to be that an Ariel Atom was a lot more bang for the (lesser) buck.

Out here with me? Must be a trend. No, it was vivid orange. I didn't realize they sold Atom's here. I'm surprised I haven't seen one yet. The importer must be on the "right coast".
