My husband just took me for a drive to show off his Wankel.
Guess the car?

I like a guessing game. Not a Prius, surely.
Edit: Just realised what you're on about. Thought you meant it was a bit of a wa**erish car!!
Mazda?

I believe Wankels went out of production last year. So not a new model car. RX-7 or RX-8?

I saw an Audi TT that was orange. Flat paint orange. Ugly as sin. If it had been that shiny orange it would have looked a lot better.

Hee, hee. NO! He's still relatively secure and in working order. So, no need for red. It's Galaxy Gray Mica.

Nice car. Would have been nice to have been consulted though. A friend bought a Harley without asking his wife. Things were a wee bit frosty for a while!!

While the timing was poor, I was paying bills when he walked in, he works very hard and deserves a treat. Besides, I had no idea what to get him for Christmas other than socks and underwear. Problem solved. ;D

Hubby has been playing a game he calls, "What's new at the loading dock". When he drops my son off at the stage door for his ballet performances, he has to go through the parking lot under the loading dock. Night 1. Black Fisker Karma. Mostly we see just silver. I wonder if this is a very new one. Night 2. Ferrari California (I think) He told me a mom wearing a mink vest got out of that one. And this is simply a drawing of the back end of a Scion FR-S. My son and I followed this for a while (I was driving therefore no pic.) and he said it reminded him of James May. He said it was cool but normal, square and wrinkly. OK.

Wow, that's one hell of a car park!
I love the design of the Fisker; the silver one James drove on the programme had me squeaking a bit.
James = normal and wrinkly, square but cool....... *chuckles to self*

A sizable part of Fisker's inventory was damaged in Hurricane Sandy, so their available colors may be limited. However, I like the black. They can ship one my way.

*sigh* It must be nice to live in a place where one can see lovely expensive cars like the ones you posted, adrianmay. Washington, DC is a very boring car town; lost of Mercedes, BMWs, etc., but nothing very sporty. However there was an article in the Washington Post just yesterday about very upscale car dealerships (Aston Martin, Tesla) coming to northern Virginia. Apparently there is an Aston Martin club in Loudoun County, Virginia; the place also happens to have the highest per capita income in the US.

Tonight's offering from "What's new at the loading dock" actually comes from the parking lot across the street from the loading dock. Is that cheating? I believe it is a Lotus Elise S. Lotus experts, please correct me. The hubby said it was tiny compared to his RX8. You can tell that from how much room it had in the parking space. He also said it was about 6 inches shorter, roof to ground then his car. Jeremy need not give this a second look. Lynne: We obviously have the "boring cars" too but I think the year around warm weather brings these out on a daily basis. Maybe it's the culture of flash out here too. When we lived in DC, the GW Park Police had confiscated a Jaguar and used it as a patrol car. Slightly confusing.

Well here in lil ole Albuquerque I saw a red Lotus Exige or Elise, it was too far away and in the other lane. Looked new. I was extremely surprised to say the least. I may also have seen the tail lights of an Aston Martin but once again to far in front of me.

Picture's gone, AM.
If it was a Lotus Elise then yes, they are teeny. My husband had 9 Lotuses (Loti?) in his lifetime, and when he came back with the Elise I sighed. It was so low you had to virtually sit flat on the floor with your legs straight in front of you, and there was a sill raised about 10 inches so you had to slide in sideways feet first. That all sounds quite easy, doesn't it? I tried twice and had to come out on all fours. Never tried again.

It says "this person moved or deleted this image", which is quite awkward of you if I may say, AM.
I would've asked you to paint a word picture for us instead, but Dit's already done that.

I'm not sure whether that's an Elise or an Exige, they have similarities.
Just to add to the picture, the second (and last) time I got into the Elise I was being dropped off at our end-of-term dinner. It was summer, everyone was outside enjoying drinks as I arrived at the venue....you can guess the rest.

I think it's an Exige. The roofline is different.
(No, I'm not a Lotus expert. I've just been looking at pictures)

The Exige has a bit more 'poke' than the Elise, but the Elise is much prettier.

That is an Exige. It also has big sills, like Dit's description. Both the Elise and the Exige have their engines positioned behind the driver, and the radiator (and various other things) are in the front. Those big sills are the conduits for the coolant pipes, wiring, and whatnot between the front and rear. (Although one might wonder if automotive engineers designed them while thinking of women in short skirts.)

I was down at the beach today and a lady that my daughter works with rolled up in this. Not a super special car, just in great shape and a pretty, original color. '67 Mustang coupe. It was cool too it had the old blue '70s California plate although, technically, not the same period as the car. CA laws on vintage plates: Model Year Date License Plates 5004.1. (a) An owner of any vehicle that is a 1969 or older.... may utilize license plates of this state with the date of year corresponding to the model year date when the vehicle was manufactured.
