I haven't waxed my car for many a year and although she is in quite good condition still, is there a time limit before it's too late to bring back that extra "as new" shine to the bodywork. This came to mind watching James wax his car in the Alfa Challenge.

Take it to one of those car washes like TG set fire to in the Convertable People Carrier epi and pay for the 'top wash'. If it works, it works. If it don't at least you're not worn out polishing the bloomin' thing PS Why did I buy a black truck? I've had black before (3 litre JPS Ford Capri) and know how hard they are to keep looking good. I did have a 'husband' in those days who did all the hard work

It's not as bad as a white car, they show all the greasy fingerprints on the wings when the bonnet's been up too!

My car just started doing this today. I was hoping it was just the wet roads but I'm not so sure. When I would change gears, it would jerk and sound like it was going to cut out. I'm hoping it's just the weather and nothing serious, since money is going to be tight for a while. I'm hoping it's not the transmission dying. Maybe I'm just worried. Hopefully it won't do that tomorrow. I need it to keep working, incase I get an interview soon.

;D I'm proud to own a silver car, they are so much easier to keep clean. I've had mine a month now. I'd have washed my old one at least twice/three times by now. Haven't done the new one once. Have you tried Turtle Wax Ly? I bought some for my dad a couple of christmas' ago and his car was gleaming!

If it's been very wet, it could be a bit of damp causing problems with the electrics.

Thanks, Inky. I'll see if my friend will let me borrow some of his since his garage is down the road from my office tomorrow. Take care.

I hope the WD40 does the trick. I take it you have checked all the connections to make sure they are nice and snug? Always worth a look. Failing that, do a Basil and beat it with a tree branch ;D

If the beating with a branch doesn't work, at least you have had the opportunity to get rid of the stress

A mild cut and polish and wax. Failing that, if you can be bothered, you can get it re-sparayed.
