I've just voted and that makes 11 (obviously only once, others had voted since Lew's tally). Will definitely have to crowd spot in the repeat. I must be crazy, I tend to look just at one face, if he's in shot! Can't understand though, I mean don't they want more men than women, or a balance, so why cross dress when you're of the male gender I mean, I could understand one of us cross-dressing just to get in (well I'm sure some would consider it!) but the other way round - just doesn't add up! LOL EDIT - And please, if some wag (not WAG) is reading this, don't do a lucy and join as 'tranny'. ;D

I don't think they really were a cross-dresser Maibee. I think we're all just making mischief again. Anyway, as the person who started the discussion on audience members, I'd say let's end it there. As I'll be in the audience myself in a week or so's time I dread to think what people will say about me (and would rather not know ). So - vote people and let us discuss the content rather than the decoration from now on.

Had to give it a 10... fantastic episode, so many 'tears of laughter' moments, I couldn't begin to list 'em, loved the news, loved the Alfa challenge... and some of James' looks to camera, gulp!! I suppose I could have deducted one point for no Stig, but hey, I think they more than made up for that!! ;D

is that the first time the Stig has been missing in an episode (except for the Specials)? Maybe he was unwell.

I haven't seen it yet. I need to see if someone posted it on YouTube. Please say yes. I love their cheap car challenges. I'll have to check back later when I can and see.

Maureen, this was put up by MG yesterday, the comment I mean, not sure about the torrent. Maybe it'll work for you.

Lew - posting this here - we all do make an effort to comment on the series after broadcasting, though some comments do end up on the Good Morning thread. I'm sure there'll be another flurry of comments after the repeat and once the overseas members have a chance to view it. You will have noticed that a lot of people socialise off board now on MSN or by text, etc, and if we are under pressure to desist from too much catching up, I envisage that this will happen more and more. Which would be a shame! I love this place for the people, as much as for the opportunity discuss James's work. (You know already I'm not a hair/shirt/body topic enthusiast!) Love what has been created here.

No one is discouraging anyone from chatting on this Board. It's what makes it a better forum compared to many who are topic only. Just want to encourage more comments on the series, or any other work, that James etc does, that's all.

I haven't seen it yet either, but will vote when I do. maureen, if the torrent doesn't work, go to hessmo.com. They usually have it up by Tuesday. It isn't up yet, just checked. no download necessary. It seems to have been taken off of youtube.

To my shame, I didn't even notice that Stig wasn't there, amidst the general fabulousness all around. The magic is back... ;D ;D I had been a bit worried - see my Episode 2 comments It just goes to show (IMHO) that simple is best - a few old Alfas, some cocking about and all is well! Seriously, I would be interested to know how much the Alfa challenge cost compared to the ski/parachute one. No helicopters required, after all. James corpsing (or should that be corpseing?) during the news was a particularly endearing moment. TG is best when it's real. We are able then to laugh with them and feel involved in the situation. I think this is because we are reacting emotionally to them, and I think we can only do this when they are being themselves. Actually, when you think about it, this is incredibly generous and quite brave (unless you are a wannabee or on reality telly in which case it's just sad). When TG manufactures comedy for us to passively laugh at it doesn't work quite as well *thinking of Top Gear Ground Force*. I'm going to shut up now as I'm in danger of disappearing up my own fundament. Is it just me or was James positively glowing last night? He seems to have gained so much more self-confidence in the past year or so.

Me and hubbster watched last night's TG again this morning and my other half, who came with me last year when we got our chance to go to the hallowed ground, said (and I quote) "Oh for f***s sake, look at that bint stood behind Clarkson in the red top. What the f**k is she doing getting a ticket, like I bet she knows f**k all about cars. I bet she's sh****d someone for that ticket and she just wants to get her face on telly. It f***s me off it does. Ta*t". And that came from a man!

Just want to encourage more comments on the series, or any other work, that James etc does, that's all. Thanks for clarifying, Ly. That shouldn't be a problem then! A pleasure in fact! We have threads for WA, 20th Century, Toys, as TV progs, and ones for interviews, columns and broadcasts. Do we ones James' books or specificallly Hard Shoulder and May on Motors? (Sorry if they're here somewhere and I haven't seen them!) That way we can discuss fave extracts and increase work-related comments.

BTW, he never EVER comments on the "normal" folk in the audience. Not the fat ones, the skinny ones, the tall ones, the short ones, the ugly ones, the pretty ones, the "anoraks" in their car-club t shirts, the goofy ones, the nerdy ones, the blondes, the brunettes, the ones with spikey hair...........never............EVER ! But she did stand out from the crowd a bit.

I think both the books are in the TV, Books etc section. If not, a thread can always be created. Sprogs - thanks for that. Although I don't want us to keep going over that particular incident, it does worry me that TG is going down the road of bimbo's only - which would be a shame.

I agree Bayleaf with all your points. I found Ground Force particularly painful really. it was funny - but forced (excuse the pun). And James - well maybe he's got a lot to glow about. ;D

I thought the chemistry between the presenters was spot-on last night. James did particularly shine during the News, but everything seemed to just 'fit', if you know what I mean. And mooching around other sites, I'm glad to know that I wasn't the only one having a sniffle at the end of the Alfa challenge. That's actually twice this series has brought forth the wet stuff, but last week was just a little tear at the sheer beauty of things during the CLK Black segment - this week was a properly emotional reaction. I still don't know quite why, as the torrent isn't being very friendly to me, so I haven't been able to re-watch it as yet.
Actually, it's a funny thing - if I compare last week's show with this week's, I realise that the car-driven (excuse the phrase) content of show two is WHAT I watch TG for, but the cameraderie and the genuine chemistry that comes through in its presentation is WHY I watch TG. Unlike a lot of people, I don't miss the cocking about when it isn't there for an episode or two - but I'd miss it like hell if it went away completely.

Definitely the best of the series so far! I loved the Bently review and Jeremy's driving skills are amazing. I was on the edge of my seat with a smile like this : He just looked incredible in that beast of a car. Stunning. I laughed most of the way through during the Alfa challenge, I adored every moment of it. Particularly when poor James got a bit cranky and left Richard behind, and when those girls turned up James' 'hello' had me screaming  Reminds me of the American episode when Jeremy says "He's going to walk into a dealer say 'hello' (posh accent) and be shot". James, you are a gorgeous specimen. I can't remember laughing so much before at TG, and I loved the news and the Dacia finally going on sale and James' laugh Fantastic stuff, God I love this show. 10/10
