I think Daniel has been played all series, although I might be wrong.

You could be right Ly, I knew it wasn't the first time, but couldn't remember exactly, so just erred on the side of caution!!

Yes, Liz, Stig playing 'Daniel' had me thinking there! I mean Dr Daniel and the Stig character could be deemed similar types in CVG's two fics! ;D But as regards the in-joke, well, I secretly let it be known that that was the first single I ever bought, and if they could somehow manage to sneak that in somewhere..... So you never know.... (Disclaimer for the gullible - usual maibee tongue in cheek baloney here! ;D )

Neither had I. But it truly was my first single! Must be fate! (Or something else that Labi Siffre sang )

Liz, I don't think the person formerly know as Reg, and now with the middle name Hercules, would fit into Stig's suit. But you never know. Captain Fantastic as Stig is a better theory funnier analogy/joke/image than Captain Slow. (Who's the Brown Dirty Cowboy? TGSM? Well he could be Bernie, drives the fastest stunt car in the west!) ROFL!

OMG maibee!... could you imagine it, maybe that's why Stig looked a little stunned during the toupee test... he was thinking 'if not for this helmet, that could be me??'...

Fantastic episode - Richard's riding outfit was just the hottest thing I've ever seen. I would have loved to have seen James there, also riding. I think he would have looked amazing in the same outfit (bigger sizing, of course) but....maybe the horse was too scary for him Loved the luxury car bit, and James' glasses, which was the first time I've seen him wear glasses. I just wonder why they were all bent out of shape? Hmmmm.

I thought James' glasses were a prop because they weren't mentioned or anything. If he really needed them I felt that Jeremy would have gotten a dig in over them

They look like they could be a spare pair of Jezza's, considering they are similar in style. I think it's still sweet, the 'old men in glasses'
And Maygrail, you like a James/Jeremy pairing, huh? I have to admit I'm rather partial to James/Richard myself, but I can see the attraction between J/J. They are of similar ages and have a lovely, natural rapport.

"I think I have just proved Gordon Brown is Stalin!" The reading out and mentioning of letters is to that of my chagrin, but if I ever were to become irascible enough to send an incensed/shocked letter in then that would be my premise. Clarkson's getting more outrageous with each bloody show.
I did enjoy this one though - I had no idea that James wore glasses, either. Perhaps it didn't quite live up to the capricious fantastical idylls I had painted in my head earlier in the day after my friends uttered the words "James May" and "Rolls Royce" consecutively in the same sentence.
"You could have bought a golf" - lol ;D

I think the glasses were just worn for the filming. thats my thpought. if he had to wear them he would look fine. I prefer him without but he still looks lovely with them on. yes my fave part was when James got concerned about the workmen. ah he was all concerned & I have a screen cap & he just has the loveliest expression. Horrible people. leave James alone & build or whatever it is your supposed to be doing. Horrible people. lol

I then admitted to myself that he didn't, really. I abhor builders.
