According to one of the Finnish members on FG, James was over there last weekend to do some filming for the next series. I quote: James May was here in Finland last weekend filming for next season. There should be about 10 minute Finnish section in some of the episodes, including Mika Häkkinen teaching May how to drive in Ahvenisto racetrack and some footage of Finnish national motor sport "Jokamiesluokka" (don't know the English name for that, but very cheap cars on dirt track) and of course some rallying. May was here to find out why Finns are so good at motor sport and I think he did find out the reason..
A yay for more James.....of course I also want to know why the fins are so good ;D

I wonder though why they didn't send Richard. Jokamiesluokka seems more Richard's thing. ;D

When I went over there for a holiday, one of my Finnish friends, who is half-Italian, took us out for a drive through the forests in his rather nifty Alfa (can't remember which model, it was a long time ago). The Finn/Italian combination made for an interesting (and rather fast) driving experience ;D ;D

The Finns have a national motorsport? That really doesn't surprise me I always wondered why they were so good at things like F1 and WRC. I've tried to pick over the article with a translation tool, which was hopeless, and my eyes, which didn't go much better, but from what the Final Gear chap said, I wasn't too far out in essence, even if I couldn't understand the words... Oh, and Top Gear is a popular programme with 350 million viewers and has won lots of awards. And it features humour and sarcasm. or possibly sarcastic humour... I never could get to grips with Finnish.

I never could get to grips with Finnish. The only word I learnt while I was there was 'ishtu' (that's what it sounded like) and it meant 'sit'. Have you guessed that my Finnish friends are doggy people? We sent a dog out there who became one of their top dogs. Dear Thomas www.aprilmist.net/GlensideWayfarer.htm

I didn't even notice the cigarette in James's mouth until I read the comment under the picture and then looked at it again. It's kind of disguised against the white t-shirts behind him.
I wonder if he's written his script on the palm of his hand and is learning it?

Well spotted! I also now noticed there is a pack of cigarettes on the chair in between them. ;D I believe in France, like in Britain, there is a ban on smoking in pubs, so they were lucky to be able to have their beer outside.

I do not know if this is true but i have been told my a friend who went to France that they take no notice of the smoking ban.
