Nicked from FinalGear! ;D This is James's column from Car Magazine from March 1996. So that's not Sarah he is talking about, but a previous girlfriend. Love the pic.

Is there any way you could enlarge the scan, please? The type is too small to read at the moment. It is on my screen, anyway Thanks in advance.

It isn't mine, I just linked to it. But if you move your cursor in the picture, you should be able to zoom in. Otherwise, download it on your pc, you can then use any of the usual photoshop prgrammes to zoom in.

I've just tried again, and have now spotted the little square icon, in the bottom of the image, for the zoom function! Sorry, I'm a bit thick where computers are concerned. Thanks for your help.

Well, in the article from the Mail on Sunday from March 1999 (which is also posted here) he mentions having a steady girlfriend. And I can remember an other interview from that period in which he mentions being in a longlasting relationship, so I assume that's the same girl (no idea what he name is) as he mentions in this column.
Oh, and he started dating Sarah in 2000.

No probs. It reminded me again what a crying shame it is that all the content of james-may.co.uk has vanished. There were loads of interesting old articles on there, and not linked but with texts copied and pasted, so not accessible in any other way. I read all of them and have a very good memory for these things, but it would be great to be able to look it up again. Does anyone know the moderator? Perhaps she wouldn't mind if we put it on this site.

I wish. It was one of my favourite sites to visit too. There were tons of great pictures, stories, and it kept us up to date on his show schedules and such.
I'm guessing the couple in the yellow car is them. I love the art work. He does look mafia-ish in that picture.

Maybe someone could PM her on there and ask for the articles and interviews. It's a real shame that it was all removed so suddenly without giving anyone warning. Rather selfish, I feel.

Oh, right. Who knows. The webmistress decided that she was closing the site. It closed. No warning. No explanation. The Pievy remains, but is for some reason closed to new members. All very strange.

That is sad.
Maybe open as another James may site later ?
That tells me why The Pievy links don't work.

I loved this article! And that web site was very nice. It was the first James May website I stumbled upon. ;D I would love to see some of it's content somewhere else on the internet. Preferably here!

That's a funy article. Terrible photo though, or maybe that was just the 90's... My god, James is so like my OH. It is quite disturbing.

Sorry to say highly unlikely this will happen. There is a bit of a history between james-may.co.uk and our previous forums on Digital Spy, our James May Smut proboards and finally our existing board here! The webmistress of james-may.co.uk, Indochine, did not approve of some of our content, so I don't think we are likely to see any sort of transfer. Which certainly is a shame, as she had such a huge catalogue on james-may.co.uk, plus she interviewed him every year at the motor shows. I must post a little blurb about our James May forum history for those who are not aware of how we started!

I knew there were issues between the two. I started visiting about the time this board was formed. She did have some good interviews though and wonderful pictures.

Yeah...its a shame...but these things happen...unfortunately they happen quite a lot...people lose interest, chuck it in, all sorts of things can happen .

lovely column, so it goes to show, it's good to know about cars but don't know TOO much either or he'll feel as if he has nothing left to teach!
